damn? well that might explain things...
Sorry about this being unrelated to the topic but I need some minor aid. For a Christmas Tree, which do you think is better? It sucks that you can't place torches on leaves anymore, that would have made it a little more subtle. Eh, you work with what you can in a square world.

The second one definitely. :D
First one, the top block being glowstone matches more
Well I agree that it does seem to fit better with one on top, I put it back when I got home. Lol, you don't know how many hours I waited for saplings to grow in hope that they'd form the tree I wanted. I'm picky that way when it comes to MC sometimes. Ultimately I just made it myself, broke two shears in the process but it was worth it.
Why not use bonemeal?
I didn't have any bones at the time because I used them all for the first 20 or saplings and for some odd reason Skeletons do not spawn as much in that area as Spiders and Creepers. Well on the plus side I have tons of refined wood for making tools and such.
Yes! Jeb has taken over as the lead developer for Minecraft!! Let's hope he does a better job.

Breaking news: He's already fixed some redstone bugs, a powered rail bug, and added regrowing wool to sheep today.

And he didn't take a vacation afterwards.
