Ok, But how do i make a Warp Gate.

Im a noob with Minecraft, I barely got it. That is why i wanted to join you guys, so ya'll can teach me so i can get better.

no problem, wee're more than happy to help. The warp gates are part of a plugin that our server uses instead of using the /warp command, on account of our last one getting about 500 warps and none of them well named. I'm sure you've seen the gates around, you right click the sign to choose a destination and then flick the switch to activate them. The gate that you will construct will be the same design as those, so just build it like the others and it'll be fine. Its constructed of stone (not cobblestone) a sign, and a button.

This video should go a bit more into detail for you. Don't worry about the beginning part, as its more geared towards installation. The important thing is to make one with a sign selector, because if you don't your gate won't be on the network with all the other ones, and it'll be tough for people to come check out your stuff.

So basically I could make a different network of gates using obsidian or something

No, they have to be stone. The network is defined by the sign, not the blocks the portal is made out of. In fact, if you made the portal out of anything but stone, it wouldnt work (not my rule, just how the plugin is written). I changed it to stone from obsidian because its easier for people to get stone than obsidian (only donators have access to /gamemode and /i, and obsidian is a BITCH to collect.)

Man, I played together with "ecercitumsumeret" and he/she tough me a whole bunch of stuff. He got me started.
I have my Home Sweet Home set up thanks to him/her.

out of interest would it be possible for us to do survival maps like skyblock or something on this server as well. seeing vids of these on youtube makes me think that it would be fun for us all to have a go
