I have heard the name 'Death Note' thrown around a lot when it comes to animé - anyone here vouch for that? Is it as cool as Bleach?
For you, I think you should enjoy it as it generally serves well amongst most people.  Replace action with thriller, and take out the comedy aspects of Bleach.  Also to be noted is that Death Note is 37 episodes as opposed to Bleach's ~273? (about 3 main stories in Death Note)

The first plot on Death Note is the best, so you can always just start watching to see if you like it.

I think Bleach is still going whether it be the anime or manga.
Edit: Okay, so the anime is actually finished.

More like, I need bleach in my eyes after watching that stupid poo poo.

8D

Haven't watched the anime, but I personally find it worse than One Piece and Naruto, the two other series it seems to be often compared to. Still, there's manga (and anime) worse than Bleach.
I quite enjoyed Bleach. I'm disappointed it's gone :(
I haven't watched Bleach, because I know I wouldn't like it, but for someone just starting to watch anime, it's fine.  There's no point in them starting with anime that makes references that appeals to hardcore Otaku, because they're not going to get it.
Bleach = Gain Power = Lost Power = Regain Power Becomes Stronger = Lost Power Again = Regains Power Becomes more & more Stronger

That's my conclusion after watching Bleach from beginning to end

anyway just finished watching

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun Episode 01

and it seems good gonna add this anime to my watchlist Woo

So every Shonen basically? Dragon Ball Z ring a bell...
yup Hihi

also if you've seen that episode where Ichigo & Aizen fought well

Longer hair seems to make the Protagonist & Antagonist stronger Hahaha
Well, I'll look into some others when I finish Bleach, probably look at Death Note
Full Metal Panic! and Love Hina are 2 of my top favs.

But also Hellsing, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Code Geass, Speed Grapher, Demonbane, Blue Gender, Soukyuu no Fafner, Ghost in the Shell, Shuffle, and Vandread come to mind.
