Curently Watching:
Planetes
Aoi Bungaku/Blue Literature
Elfen Lied....Seems pretty nice. Me and a friend watched it at school today so I decided to watch a bit more.
Sola - seems rather unexciting - one of those ones that try to "create an atmosphere" or some poo poo like that.
Get Backers - its good so far, its funny and makes me lol, half decent story. im enjoying it, so that's the main thing.

Unimaginative animes for the win.... Knock-knock
Wouldn't call it unimaginative.  It's just that you have to swallow the fact that the characters are (apparently) in some lovely fantasy world, which the writers assume the audience will follow.

It's so so...

But some of the background and assumptions in that story are fundamentally flawed.  So this girl gets burnt like a vampire if she see touches sunlight. Supposedly, she's never seen the sky before, and it's her dream to see the sky... (that's like the basis of the the story).  Errr, seriously, look out a window, I mean she actually keeps the windows open sometimes, so that obviously isn't going to kill her (from the anime, it seems like only direct or strong sunlight effects her, keeping the windows open doesn't do anything).  Alternatively2, watch TV or just get your friend to film it for you.  Alternatively, set up a mirror system or something?  Anyway, there's like 1000 different ways you can think of to see the sky, especially if she wanted to see it that much.

I've been wondering about the window thing myself, or the time when she stares out of the cave.  She's seen pictures of it, so TV etc won't help.
This is where I think the "mood" comes into play.  They seem to be trying to give you the idea that being under the sky and looking at it is the dream, rather than see some "fake" imagery or not experience being in open daylight.  I don't think her dream is exactly to see the sky, rather to experience what the guy experiences.
Well, that's what I can take.

Actually I came to that conclusion too, but it still seems screwed up, whichever way I look at it.  Also, I remember parts in the anime where she actually IS outside (and it's not raining), don't know how that works...

How about this... Just wait till the sun is at a very steep angle (early morning or before sunset) and direct sunlight gets blocked by the building.  Then sleep on the grass and look upwards all you like.

You can only see a "half sky" since the other half is obscured by the building.  Also open sky probably still has too much sunlight?  Obscure, but eh.  Don't think this is targeted at a technically inclined mind like yours.
