That's only the OP. No big deal because the OP is a one off thing. Look at the main files... Thora = 900MB per 1080p episode. Coalgirls = 1600MB per 1080p episode.
And I personally think it's a good idea to stick more bitrate into the OP (lower crf for OP than main episode), because if you've actually seen the OP, it does actually need the bits to look good (it's much more "visual" than the main episode). Also, improving the OP has a very small cost to total size (at most like 50MB or something), while changing anything in the main episodes will have a huge cost.
ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote: [ -> ]Honestly, I'd have to choose CG out of the two.
That's based on the sizes for the OP. Would you still choose Coalgirls knowing the true sizes of the files? (900 vs 1600)
You said they look the same anyway. If they look the same, the smaller one is superior.

No, FLAC is dumb. Really, can you honestly hear the difference between lossless and high bitrate lossy? I seriously doubt it.
So maybe you're willing to spend 1500KB/s on an audio stream, just so you can get the placebo effect in your mind that the audio is audibly better, I'm not particularly fond of doing that. (Hell, why not go lossless video too? Huffyuv all the way).
AC3 is also dumb for that matter, because if they're going to re-encode it anyway, why not choose a more efficient codec instead like AAC?
Senseito7 Wrote: [ -> ]and those video details pretty much say CoalGirls is better like you said.
Are you just imagining things in your head?
1. You CANNOT see the video details for Thora, they blanked it out.
2. He DID NOT say Coalgirls had better video either.
Senseito7 Wrote: [ -> ]FLAC > AC3Depends on source. If source is AC3, FLAC isn't going to improve quality.

Source should be lossless.
