Senseito7 Wrote: [ -> ]Assassinator Wrote: [ -> ]ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote: [ -> ]As hinted by Assassinator, I decided to do a little stat analysis of [Sensei's] ratings:
Mean: 9.357142857 /10
Std. Dev.: 0.548374221
So statistically, 66% of [Sensei's] ratings fall between 8.81 and 9.91 (1 standard deviation)
I lol'd. Quite a lot on my list still are on 8 & 9, but the titles are what they are, they are that good (imo, of course) but with recent anime and some anime of the past I've been watching recently... I could say here comes the shitstorm but I hope that's not the case.
(Almost all of my currently watching anime are rated 7 - and there will definitely be a score break-up in 3-4 weeks time as they end. Watch this space.)
There's nothing wrong with 8's and 9's... as long as it's not like all 8's and 9's.
And in the past at the time these stats were calculated, it was like all 9's and 10's (more 10's than 9's), besides for a couple of 8's and one 6 or something.
Erm. I think I might be dropping Index soon. Did anyone else find it like.. really.. really boring?
All the Mikoto-copies and random magic bad guys bla bla slightly random and uninteresting plot.

Opinions vary quite a lot on that one, it isn't very safe.
- Zinga thought Index is stupid.
- Heartless thought Index > Railgun.
- I liked Railgun a bit more. Index is like 6-7/10, railgun is like 7-8/10.
So it all depends on what style of stuff you like. Index is your shounen "lets fight" kind of show, without too much of a storyline. It's like do you like playing Unreal Tournament or Starcraft or Final Fantasy more.
If you want something "safe", try Code Geass, everyone I know, it's either 9 or 10, more often 10.
I thing, right now, Railgun is better than Index in many respects. Directing seems better.. I wonder if it was a different producer for each show. Railgun did have its serious plots and they just seemed better laid out with the right balance of serious and comedy.
And yeah I know I aught to see Code Geass.. its crummy serious anime like these that put me off the genre for a while though. (I must say though, serious-wise RAINBOW and Angel Beats is much better than Index...)
Edit: Ah, Index and Railgun were both produced by J.C.Staff but directed by different guys. No surprise on the difference then..

Code Geass isn't full 100% srsbsns like Death Note is, it has a bit of everything. Code Geass has a sort of awesomeness that's somewhat unique to it, maybe it's the mind games,
maybe it's Lelouche, who's far far far different from other (clueless and/or plain and/or indecisive and/or always-needs-girl-to-save-him and/or way-too-benevolent) main characters you usually get.

Interesting. [I need to see Death Note too.. ^^']
What episode of Index are you up to?
Or to put it differently, which arc are you on? Let me guess, the Accelerator arc?
I heard a lot of the 2nd season will be half based on Accelerator (he changes, see episode 19 and 20), rather than completely Touma, which will hopefully make things a bit better, since Touma pisses me off.

Correlation...
-1 = perfect negative

lol non-existant compatibility for the top half?

Probably not enough paired data points to be able to make a good judgment.
