I wonder - does wanting better animation in Hen Zemi make me a pervert?
Hmm...
Finished Baka to Test yesterday - ended up much funnier and entertaining than expected! 7 or 8
Finished the first season of Emma, really enjoyed it - but while it's consistantly good, it's not often outstanding. On the other hand, I started Season 2 and it's even better than the first. Looking forward to every night to watch more now!
Finished Emma second season the other night, wrapping it up.
If you fancy a well made romance (I'm a real sucker for romances, so naturally I loved this) set in Victorian times with very few weaknesses, check it out.
Full review to come. 9/10
Kowarekake no Orgel OVA is a beautiful 30-minute story about a guy who finds an abandoned (loli) robot (a la Chobits) which he names Flower - the following story is bittersweet and has one of those "can robots feel" things going on and interestingly, the story has Flower doing first-person narrative.
It's weakness is its vagueness in storytelling. While it's obvious they are trying to tell the story in a certain way, at some points the "story" gets lost amongst the oft-random events that happen.. but by the end it becomes obvious that was all part of point it's trying to make.
Still, when the story has this kind of issue, it's hard to give it a good score outright - especially when it's only 30 minutes long. The general opinion is that it's a work of art with a relatively weak story and in this case I agree - but I can't give it as high a rating many others have.
I'll probably watch it again, if only to simply to admire its animation. It's a bittersweet tale that does a decent of making its case, but nothing more. It can still be appreciated though, and it's worth a watch at least once. 7/10
What am I watching?
I'm currently more than half way through Cross Game and I'm also watching Mnemosyne, having just finished OVA 2 last night.
Cross Game has been excellent, 30 episodes on and counting and Mnemosyne had an awesome first OVA but a more average second one.
Finished "Genius Party"
Part 1 of 7: Genius Party - 9/10

Part 4 of 7: Doorbell - 7/10
Part 5 of 7: Limit Cycle - 6/10
Part 6 of 7: Happy Machine - 8/10
Part 7 of 7: Baby Blue - 9/10
Finished "Mnemosyne". Feel like I'm getting somewhere (I guess!) au au au~~!!
Will be pulling some of my recent watches into an article for Animeted soon but for a quick thought..
.. Mnemosyne presented some interesting ideas which came together slowly and later than you'd expect (6x45mins) and in a way it leads up to a relatively unexciting final episode after Episode 5 which was the strongest after Episode 1... and if you get where I'm coming from you'd that means this didn't do as well as it could have.
The story itself is feels vague at times but ultimately the important bits are wrapped up pretty well.. considering its "OVA" nature I'd have liked to have seen better animation has this would have significantly improved it. Voice acting was good though.
There's a lot to like - I really liked some of the characters and the uncut explicit nature of the anime helped it... the action was decent and it kept you guessing away as the story "jumps about" (you'll have to see it to know what I mean) but kept composed enough to keep you engaged - these were the better elements to the anime.
Overall though - I finished with a feeling of unsatisfaction.. and that's never a good thing.
7/10 (Feeling generous - will probably drop it to 6 eventually)
any particular reason for morphing into Hanyuu? lol
apart from that she looks adorable xD
