Assassinator Wrote: [ -> ]Tried this, only takes like 1hr to finish the whole thing.  But your hands hurt like hell after that hour from nonstop spamming keys.  You can keep going but from what I've seen, it's like the same thing, but a bit harder, so I can't be stuffed.

Ok, here's my impression after the 1hr.
Kyouko = AoE attacks that hit large areas for high damage = awesome.
Madoka = Long range but crap scope of attack, I mean she can only attack in a straight line or diagonally.  Also crap crowd control, when stuff is everywhere on the screen, you're like, fuck (sure you can use special, but then you get hit and you loss a crapload of life).
Sayaka = Highest DPS, but melee.  Kills stuff the fastest.  Most attacks also knock enemies back = awesome.  Sakaya makes your hand hurt though.
Mami = Tiro Finale does wtfs[/o]hitloadtons of damage (hold it down to keep shooting), dangerous to use though.
Homura = Dunno what to say, sPa/\/\ explosions I guess.

tl;dr - melee and mid-range classes > long-range classes for single player mode.  Also hate the third level.

Tried this game.

Madoka is pretty decent on the first level and second (if you don't go to the place where there's downward slopes either side of you).  She ultimately needs more flexibility (like being able to aim her strong attack in different directions), although she'd still be pretty poo poo.  Main problem is that long distance isn't that much of an advantage in this game (close encounters) plus a lot of enemies don't appear at the same height as you in later levels - can't even get enemies directly on 4th level without jumping.  Does have the ability to float in the air though.
Mami is slightly better cause of better versatility, though her weak attack plainly sucks (has limited range, despite looking like guns) and down+strong attack sucks too.
Homura is pretty awesome for a ranged character.  Her weak attack is basically redundant.  Grenade fairly weak too (her main issue), but rockets are useful and mortar does decent DPS.
Sayaka is not as flexible as Kyouko IMO but the insane amount of damage she does makes her the easiest character to use.  Though Kyouko's down+strong attack does quite a high amount of DPS too, and the 3rd level is easiest with Kyouko.

After the 2nd round, it unlocks to the 5th round, where it's easy to lose lots of health (a number of boss attacks can one hit KO you).  Got to the final boss on 5th round with Kyouko but died and couldn't be bothered retraining or similar.
Madoka is just really boring to play as because she one has two attacks that I know of.
Kyouko I find is generally the best character and I find it easier to fight aerial enemies with her (which stage three is filled with)
Sayaka is Kyouko with short range and more damage.
Mami main attack despite being fired with shotguns is actually a close range attack. I like using her but I find I can't defend myself with her.
Homura is my preferred character. Once I found this ability which time freezes (plot spoiler!) but I don't even know how I did it. Seems that your soul gauge seems to be affected by it.

Side note: there's an official Madoka game coming out for the PSP which seems to combine VN and Rogue like RPG elements together.
Streets of Rage II ^_^
I played the first time with Homura, kept using the time freeze ability when things got tough. Made the game a whole lot easier.

Her special is like one of the best in the game.  But yeah, she doesn't have enough attacks.

Her crowd control ability is the one where she shoots both sides (forward/back + strong attack).  Her strong attack is probably better than her weak since it has longer range.

I think all special attacks do that.  If you mean it impacts your health, you can sometimes delay it going down by spamming special attacks.
Xenoblade Chronicles ya jokyahs!

Special attacks? Am I missing something? Also the configuration doesn't work on my PC :/

EDIT: Oh, you press A, I never knew until now :/
Now that I come to think of it. Mami seems to be the only character in the anime who announces the name of her ultimate attack before using it which is unusual but Madoka is not like any other mahou shoujo anime anyway.

If you listen to the drama CDs, Kyouko does it once too.
