The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
So what happened to the GC version?
Wait, what censorship?
I'll go over as much as I know. I thought everyone would've know by now.

Okay, version 1.0 is the uncensored one.
Version 1.1 censored the chanting prayers in the Fire Temple and I think that was it.
Version 1.2 made Ganondorf's blood green because they absolutely had to keep an E rating (Why so afraid of T?).

The Gamecube version changes the symbol of the Gerudo from a moon and star to this pattern that was on Ganondorf's cape though apparently not all instances of it were changed.
The Wii Virtual console version I think is the same as the Game Cube version but I haven't played it or seen it.

The 3ds version which I also haven't played or seen I hear removes the blood on Dead Hand (the boss of the well and mini boss of the Shadow Temple) and changes Ruto's design so there's no reference to child nudity. I tried to look this one up but all I could get was some artwork of her where she looks the same.

And finally the Skull Kid's design was changed cause of his face was black with big lips, I dunno, it was apparently racially offensive. I don't know which version this change occurred in.
Interesting - I wouldn't really consider them changes that would ruin the game play though.

I am aware that some US adoptions of Japanese games have some censors added to various places - do you know if Zelda is the same in this regard?

More accessible to a larger audience I suppose.
Actually, in the US, these ratings can have quite a significant impact on how games/movies are made - studios will cut things out to get a lower rating.

Wonder why...

If memory serves, I recall the blood being blue?  If so, wonder why it's worse than green blood.

So they clothed all the Zoras?

Aren't all the Gerudos dark skinned?

They don't but I usually don't like censoring.

I'm pretty sure even the Japanese versions received the censors but I haven't really looked it up.

Nintendo have always been known to cater towards kids.

Apparently it looked like a religious symbol, I remember reading from a book years ago when I went to school that showed that symbol as a Jewish symbol but information on the Ocarina of Time censorship seems to state it was an Islamic symbol. EDIT: And it seems it is Islamic, my school is supplied with books that have crappy research :p

With the exception of Ganon/Ganondorf most blood was blue or green. Apparently there's a difference between animating blood and blood stains so Dead Hand was allowed to get away with red blood.

No idea, haven't seen the 3ds version but I from what I heard it was only Ruto and basically it's not clothes but some dress of scales so it's kinda like a floppy piece of skin.

That's a good point. Also, I forgot to mention that the redesigned Skull Kid first appeared in the N64 Majora's Mask where his lips look more like a beak.
