well OS doesn't really matter to me... as long as it isn't extremely outdated...
as for differences between vista and 7 I don't really notice anything special... or unachievable with vista...
(Also my comp had vista ultimate installed in it by accident as it was supposed to only have premium in it they used it as a display computer and were showing off ultimate and forgot to switch the OS
the display computer was the last one left as they were having some sorta discount and sold the other ones that were in the back.
I'm so lucky ^^)

OH and the orb start button is safely secured within the taskbar.
