Awesome!
Some sort of Matrix + Space Invader combo
changed up the wallpaper and made everything darker.

How hard is it to learn that Rainmeter thingy I've seen people here using?  I installed it once, messed with it fer about ten minutes then gave up.  Would probably help if I read some instructions or a nice tutorial.
There are instructions on Rainmeter.net and once you get to know it, it's pretty easy.
guess that's me being a Rainmeter developer I guess
It's really easy use Rainmeter. Anyone can do it.
Grrr, I hate instructions.  Stoopid things telling me what to do.  'Kay, I'll take a look at them, it sure gets purty once you get it set up right.
Well, a beginner may find it hard. Once you know what to do... (I can't finish it!)

Anyway, I think Rainmeter's the easiest customizer out there. Litestep looks complicated:

^ And that skin is simple. There's even harder things out there
That litestep desktop is still using rainmeter. litestep is a replacement shell, it changes the taskbar and adds/removes rules as far as window borders, shadows, controls, keyboard shortcuts, etc.

There are dozens of replacement shells out there for windows. Eku and I(when I'm on windows) use bblean, a port of the blackbox window manager to Windows. Its easy to configure, but only if you read the documentation. Docs are important if you want to customize.

Rainmeter prints info on the screen based on config files. The documentation explains how to write those config files.
