%^^ wooohoo!!

i have to chip in a bit here. having had both consoles i can add a few things:
1. xbox live is good but it fails duing to having to pay for it. on top of that don't even attempt to play a copied game (even if you own the original) as you will be permanently eXx1l3d from xbox live forever, thereby loosing your games you downloaded and all online play as well as updates. so xbox live is not worth it. xbox has very little in the way of multimedia support (you need to hae access to xbox live to download the xvid codec) and that's all you can play. you can of course play music and other stuff and also stream media but its not as good as the ps3. the games however is a different story. the games are usually available on both consoles however the ps3 games do seem to be poorer (usually running lower resolution that the xbox). also as mentioned there are more exclusives for the 360. the 360 has a very high error rate due to the rrod problems and poor soldering used in manufacture as well as slightly buckling in the boards due again to poor production. however microsoft stepped up to the plate and offered an extended 3 year warranty for its errors where as sony did not for its ylod problem. true the scale is different but it would have been niice to see them both offering a scheme.
2. psn is free and popular as a result. its regularly updated and doesn't ban you if you happen to play copied games (to my knowledge), however this is because its much more costly to pirate games for it - in fact im not even sure you can copy games for the ps3 yet. psn game prices however are on par with the disc formats meaning its better to buy physical copies of the games rather than downloading them. i won't go into the reasons why i hate download only games here ive ranted about it before. there is no incentive from sony to go download only and even if they did offer an incentive i personally wouldnt. games on the ps3 do seem to be poorer usually running lower resolution than the 360. its multimedia capability however lifts it head and shoulders above the 360. it can stream media, it can play media natively, it can also allow you to watch media on your psp via the ps3 so you don't even need a pc to host the media, unlike the 360. the only thing it can't do is stream blu rays (again to my knowledge - my blu ray drive is buggered) to the psp simply because of copyright issues and drm (yeah the bad word had to be said). also it has a full working internet browser which puts it again above the 360. finally lets talk about error rates. the 360 has its famous rrod however the ps3 is now getting more than its share of ylod which is basically the same thing. also repairing a ps3 is much more costly.
so in the end up i got rid of my 360 and got a ps3 with which the blu ray promptly failed, but my 360 was perm eXx1l3d so....im still happy with my ps3 and free psn and of course browsing and multimedia support but i guess it depends on what you want from your machine and what your willing to pay.
wow this post is a book i don't usually write like this, apologies in advance.

win: console specific games (halo, gears, fable II)
win: Xbox Live
win: graphics are really good
win: controller is SUPER-COMFY
win: play music in the game
lose: no blue ray
lose: have to buy a wifi thingy (but the wifi thing for the original xbox works, so its not that bad of a price if you can find one of those)
lose: not much modability
ps3:
win: blue ray
win: graphics
win: wifi included
win: free online play
lose: not many really great console specific games (don't flame this. for the most part, the standout is LittleBigPlanet, which is amazing. Killzone 2 is good, but halo is better IMHO, and duty kinda beats both of those, and that's a multiplatform. Resistance is just a repackaging of Gears. most of the games that are really popularly played on the ps3 are multiplatform games.)
lose: psn gaming is far inferior to Xbox Live
That's it. hope that helps, i really tried to be fair and unbiased.
These two games are completely different.
First gears is a 3rd person shooter while resistance is a 1st person shooter.
They have a completely different feel when playing them. controls are different.
there are also plenty of ps3 exclusives but you only say its a win for the xbox exclusives.
MGS4
LittleBigPlanet
Killzone 2
Valkyria Chronicles
Disgaea 3
Resistance 2
And soon to be:
God of War 3
Gran Turismo 5
And what do you notice?
Theres more than on xbox
Why even make that argument to begin with?
The rest were solid points.

nevar understood why nintendo made a "new retro console",. O_o
Kinda bouncing bounderies with my new PS3 since i don't think its fully optimized playing full hd good looking games,. << in my optioning! please state that i really enjoy some PS3 exclusive games!!
i guess the xbox360 is second in line and the nintendo skips a few places,. consoles(compared with available PC hardware these days) really start to lack major!!
The new upcoming nvidia "fermi" graphics cards will run 8x faster then the 295gtx,.
please note i really like graphics and there is some really fun games on the Wii too wich you won't find on any other console,..

You forgot that 360 is losing Star Ocean as an Exclusive, which i know for me was tempting me to buy one, and i know of others who were glad to hear the news
