Hardly... There are very many "mature" games on the PS3.

The deciding factor here would be:

Since India doesn't have a good XBL community or PSN, what do you intend to: Buy games or pirate.

If pirate then, it'd be the XBox360.... XBox also has relatively cheaper and more variety of games.

If you won't mind spending, then its PS3, imo.

Also, I'm not that comfortable with the Arcade and PS3 is not that much more expensive.

because FFXIII will be having only 1 disc (blueray), and in xbox, it will be having 4-5 disc (DVD dual layer), i think ps3 will be better, lol

yeah most fps are in the xbox, while in ps3 , most of them are rpg, so it really in a matter of your preference.

That may be due to the country of the consoles' origin! Japanese prefer RPG over Shooters and western gamers just love to shoot 'em up!

over the long term, Xbox will cost more, thanks to the annual fees.

Dual shock has built in battery, good enough controller for me.

Xbox has a waaayyy higher failure rate, according to kotaku recently, it's 54% . so you are in for one nasty ride. and on PS3 side, well, 9%. but the PS3 tend to heat up faster than Xbox.

Games: FPS with Xbox, RPG + everything else with PS3. end o story.

note: some games is rather unplayable with the xbox controller, eg Tekken 6.

Actually, cost is not entirely same:

Wii is a whole lot cheaper (and not officially sold). Ps3 80 GB cost = XBox 360 Arcade (almost; Elite is not sold here yet, officially).

I find the Xbox controller to be heavy and well... not that nice. But I like the position of the left analogue.

Games wise, both are becoming similar.... so not really a selling point anymore.

The one advantage PS3 does have is the in-built Blu-Ray player... but then again.... blu rays...

yeah maybe it depends on the region, but most of people here in our contry don't like fps in a console, they like it more in pc as it is more simpler with in a control of a mouse

and yeah ps3 is more to tend in japan market so there are so many rpgs in ps3, while xbox360 is more in us/western market and there are less asian rpgs there, but yeah maybe the TS consider how will the performance of the console before buying it, some says the red ring still occurs in xbox360 consoles isn't it?

no not really, if you buy all the spoon like wii fit, wii gun, wii jackknife, wii manslaughter. they cost way more than Xbox.
