Every new episode is a new story and well.. when it ends it'll be like 5 people they've made us familiar with will just.... end.
Sure all stories come to an end but K-ON is slice-of-life in a way that makes you yearn for more of their stories.. much like the Aria animes.

you yearn for more because there's nothing to start with?

Really, what's so good about Aria? I watched it, there's a few good episodes, but overall, it's pretty meh. Don't know, 7/10 at most.

It's slice of life at it's best. Sure they had things they based their world on but apart from that it's another world ~ and the fact there isn't an major plot over their usual day-to-day-lives means the possibility of making the world as "real" as possible to the viewer. The idea is get you in the moods they are in - and I'd be very surprised if you told me you didn't relax while watching it.. because there's not better anime for it.

Yes it is relaxing. It's like the most peaceful and happy anime ever. But while some episodes are good, some other episodes makes me quite bored.
And later on, I feel they're overdoing it with the "if you wish hard enough, miracles happen / wishes that transcend time" theme. I mean ok, the first time with the deliver-the-letter episode (best episode of the whole show) is really heartwarming and all, but after the 3th time, I'm like... :\ and almost completely indifferent to it.
K-on sort of did better in that it never got boring, but the best parts of Aria are better than the best parts of K-on.
