Endless Paradigm

As soon as I select "open" after highlighting the image to be imported it crashes.

Heres my topmenu_plugin from 3.52 I`m using.

Using replace all works with no crashes, also importing a .dat doesn`t cause the crash.

Even so, The new topmenu_icon.rco causes my psp to freeze right after it plays the bootsound, It loads the wave for a 1/2 sec and freezes. I thought it was because I edited the opening_plugin.prx so I restored a backup one. Same prob..

I just tried the fosters theme topmenu_icon.rco and only replaced the system icon.
Same deal...

Organ could you convert and test the topmenu_plugin I posted.
That way if it works for you I know it`s a problem on my side?

I`ll reflash 3.71+1.50 tonight. No idea what's causing the lockups.

Thanks though, at least I know it`s my psp somehow...

EDIT:

Just restored my nandimage of 3.71 without the 1.50 update. The topmenu works now.
It must be some other 3.52 rco or prx I copied over. Thanks all!

I`ll test with the 1.50 update and try some of the rcos I used before the lockups. If I find what caused the probs I'll be sure to let you all know.

I just installed the 1.50update, deleted the dic folder, replaced the jpn0.pgf and gb3s1518.bwfon with dummies and copied over my ltn0.pgf, using a 3.52 system_plugin_bg.rco, opening_plugin.rco and gameboot.pmf
using my edited opening_plugin.prx and updated update_plugin.prx (reboot plugin)
!!NO LOCKUPS!! !!YAY!!

ONLY thing I did not copy over yet is the 01-12.bmp. Maybe that was causing the probs.

I'll start converting everything else that`s 3.52 to 3.71 rcos later on.

I've managed to flash through Pandora, system_plugin_fg.rco, system_plugin.rco, sysconf, topmenu_icon.rco. Edited vshmain and paf.

Only the 01-12.bmp doesn't work. All 12 images give a white background.

It's quite complex, so to summarize it, you'll need to start at 0x11E.  The value there should be 0x01 - change it to 0x00.  Now add 0x38 to 0x11E, go to that offset, change the value from 0x01 to 0x00.  Continue by adding 0x38 again to the last offset and changing the value.  Keep doing this until you've done it for all the images (eg, if there's 10 images in the RCO, you'll have to do the above procedure 10 times).

It's lengthy, yes, but bstronga is known to not mind doing repetitive tasks :P
I'll see if I can hack up an RCO Editor which won't automatically compress things.

& i am using all custom 3.71 XMB now :)
