Well so far I got the opening_plugin.rco and system_plugin_bg.rco from 3.52 working
I can't get the 01-12.bmp from 3.52 to show, just gives all white backgrounds. (maybe too large with 200+kb?)
I still can't figure out how to decompress bitmaps for the topmenu. (I'm really lost on this one)
besides that my CXMB is starting to look good again :)

Are there any guides to decompressing the bitmaps for topmenu_icon.rco? I want to do it myself

I got this 01-12.bmp to work but is only a semi high res picture in the 12th month,..

All theme icon's look okee,..
I think you can do even less with 01-12.bmp then on 3.52m33,..

I can tell you how to make a ptf theme,.. then you have topmenu icon's and then you can use cxmb to add some stuff like gameboot, opening rco, impose rco, ,..
To make topmenu_plugin.rco you need to edit the topmenu_icon rco i do not know how to do that only bstronga knows how to make it work,.. and after you edited the topmenu you can't add new icon's with rco edit,.
but maybe you mean to extract icon's from a topmenu then you use rcoedit and load the topmenu and then just extract all,..

I know how to make .ptf's and use CXMB. I just needed to know how to decompress the bmp's to make them work with 3.71 topmenu_icon.rco. Thanks anyway though. :)

use rcoedits extract all function.
delete everything except .mig files
rename .mig to .dat (because rcoedit will insert .dat file as it is otherwise it'll compress them)
replace all with rcoedit.
check ZiNgA BuRgA's thread about the rco format todo the necessary compression flag changes.
by the way i have madsoul's silk dream ready for 3.71M33 just waiting for fixed cxmb with paf/vshmain support.
