uhh. . .wondering . . .now woth 1.50kernel, can you flash using recovery now? or can I use a homebrew like usbsss? or do I still have to use Pandora?

It's quite complex, so to summarize it, you'll need to start at 0x11E.  The value there should be 0x01 - change it to 0x00.  Now add 0x38 to 0x11E, go to that offset, change the value from 0x01 to 0x00.  Continue by adding 0x38 again to the last offset and changing the value.  Keep doing this until you've done it for all the images (eg, if there's 10 images in the RCO, you'll have to do the above procedure 10 times).

It's lengthy, yes, but bstronga is known to not mind doing repetitive tasks :P
I'll see if I can hack up an RCO Editor which won't automatically compress things.

So far ALL my changes are WORKING in recovery and recovery(xmb) in flash0 with no corruption.

I also am using uncompressed paf.prx and vshmain.prx which both work.
(haven`t tried recompressing yet)

Here's a quick hack to disable compression, and automatically unset the compression flag.  Note that it only does this when you replace an icon, so basically, you'll need to extract all, then replace using this hacked RCO Editor.  Needs to be placed in the same folder as the normal RCO Editor.
I haven't tested this yet, so tell me if it works.
Also, I've made one or two changes since v1.14d, but I kinda forgot what exactly, so there may be introduced bugs.
