Personally, I love media monkey^.^.
MediaMonkey is probably better in terms of a library design than Winamp.
I can't live without Winamp's Global Hotkeys. Also, since I don't bother spending hours tagging MP3s, I don't see the purpose of a library based design.
KMP/MPC for videos.

on topic: for me, i use the nero media player just because im too lazy to change the extention options... and it quite plays everything because i have a massive codec pack installed

me uses winamp for audio and gomplayer for video
wmp for cd ripping
...I'm surprised nobody brought this up, (either that or I'm angry that I read all eleven pages of this and missed it) but I use iTunes because that's where my dad buys all his music from, and you can't play the iTunes DRM files with windows media player. I could probably take the time to sit and run some DRM remover on all of those files but, I'd rather just wait the two minutes iTunes takes to load.
I might try something different if I really felt it necessary but lately I listen to all my music online from
