Odd. ESET Smart Security 4 seems to work just fine for me. (Build 7600)
i think its to do with 7264 that im on - it doesn't fully protect my machine. anyway im not fussed i still prefer avast anyway but eset is a good choice also especially as it is a full suite.
I'm enjoying having no security programs at all. Like 1/2 the bootup time compared to before when I had an anti-virus and an anti-spyware.
And really

That and you won't get any virus'.
true and valid points however i for one prefer sacrificing some cpu time to protecting my system against possible intrusions because past experience has seen viruses that got into your system just by being on the internet, irrespective of what you are doing. granted its less likely now but not impossible. if your carefull you can avoid av and firewalls but i would never reccomend that, especially for those who use internet banking, ebay, paypal, amazon or anything that involves money of any kind.
also i would say you couldnt know if you had a virus if your not using an av/firewall because a virus scanner is needed to tell if you have one so...

My boot time is roughly around 33-45 seconds...Running Windows 7 32-bit with ESET Smart Security. So if you're boot time is 15 seconds, then cheers.

If you're doing internet banking and that kind of stuff then yes, you should definitely have some security software.
And I'm not suggesting others to not use any security software, they most likely should. I'm just saying me myself, because I care about the speed and I personally haven't gotten a virus in 2 years.

I only don't have an antivirus on my current Windows 7 install. I'm dual booting, and when I actually do boot back to XP, I sometimes do a scan.

Well, I never tried ESET, but my old anti-virus was sort of slow. Takes at least 10 more extra seconds.
Oh the horror of it all.... :p
!0 seconds isn't a big deal IMO...If it were a 5 minute boot then I'd be tossing out the window.

Why spend the extra 10 seconds every boot if I haven't gotten a virus in 2 years anyway?
If it was 5 minutes, I'd rather live loaded with virus'... as long as the virus' doesn't make it even slower than 5 minutes.
You've contradicted yourself though...You've had the same Windows 7 installed for 2 years now? I'm also assuming that you have an anti on XP since your other post hints that...
i got a virus like 12 times...mad donkey hell!!
