I, on the other hand, think she actually did quite well in the situation...
Throwing herself on him is a nifty move.

But she's so characterised as too much of an idealist IMO.
At her age (before) she seemed like the usual shy-girl character to me. I've seen "worse idealist" characters elsewhere..

Well, how would he know?
Plus there was pressure from Akane and Mitsuki.
He heard her crying. Well,
I couldn't bare that - I HOPE that most people couldn't.. It's all good and well thinking she can look after herself, but a part of her is still 3 years back.
So much for wanting to change the story... I do get worked up ^^'

No, she's too idealistic for someone her age, almost as if she hasn't gone through puberty yet...

Hmm, I can't remember that - memory not serving me right, lol.

Am I the only person who thought it was like one of the best and most well crafted endings ever?

Next Season is really a disappointment To be honest. They seem to being trying to continue the mood but it lacks a lot of polish.
Haven't seen it yet.

Trying to "prove" your case?

I say 95% there is such a route.

Takayuki commented on that on Ep13. He was being rather selfish to "not find who he loved" in a her that was trying to be stronger. Or was her innocence what attacted him? Damn I'm starting to hate him more now. [Though I admit I love innocence as well

I watched an awful lot that I can't remember watching with this rewatch. I guess after a year some anime do have some replay value.
But i don't think Mitsuki is entirely about love
They both shared their sadness when Harku got put into a coma, as they both felt responsible. Its more about this shared feeling than the love, and the reason he can't completely cut Mitsuki out is because he can't stop feeling guilty about it happening. I don't think it was that he wanted to leave Haruka, as much as it was not wanting to face up to her, and that's partly where Akane comes in....shes like a guilt free version of Haruka :P
roberth Wrote:that's partly where Akane comes in....shes like a guilt free version of Haruka :P
but she blames herself for an awful lot in the beach scene was it Ep11 or 12..
Then the freakin Takayuki nice guy responsibility oh lawd thing.
Then the Akane who says she'll look after her sister.
If Haruka didn't wake from her 2nd coma she'd be well kicking herself.
ahh no, i mean guilt free in the sense Takayuki doesn't feel guilty for what's happened to akane....
Technically, by proxy he should if he feels guilty for Haruka, but he doesn't, which is why that aspect of the stroyline is there
I really need to wewatch this, my meory on it is a little fuzzy by now

I don't quite think he really liked her at all actually. Perhaps a little during schoolyears, but I think he was more forced to keep visiting her after the 3 years. Of course he also feels somewhat guilty for causing the mess and thus wants to at least try to help her out of it even though there's all this poo poo going on.

Again, Haruka is an angel... you still can't help but feel for her.
Takayuki is a fudgeing wimp. If I were him I just COULDN'T leave Haruka alone when she was crying in her bed, beating up her legs. I couldn't. Takayuki is a prick. How could you leave her like that - if you love her or not? It's just plain horrible.
I have to say, I (and I would assume Zinga too) had a completely different view on this...
Anyway, you have to realize Mitsuki didn't simply "have the easy way out", not really any easier than Haruka. She completely lost her swimming "future" because of it, and she pretty much took the s
hits from everyone, like Akane and all the people from swimming. And you could clearly see it effected her a whole lot, her work, and she was is a pretty bad mental state for the large part of the show.
But I understand where you're coming from. Take School Days for example, (imo) Sekai is a shameless slut (hell, everyone in that show is a shameless slut. Look at Kato Otome, she's like even worse than Sekai). And if she won at the end, I'd also be like "f
uck,

". But then again, Mitsuki is nowhere as bad as Sekai...
From her mental state at that time (broken by guilt), along with the fact that she let Haruka have the guy at the start (even though she liked him herself) meant that she wasn't just some "evil bitch" and actually cared for Haruka and was rather reasonable through the whole thing. If she was Sekai or Otome, she would be like "haha, your disabled in bed, I win, you go die quickly now".

Yeah, that too.
If I remember correctly, he only went out with her at the start because Mitsuki told him to.

Because of Lucy's story. It was beautiful. I can't really put it better.
Nana > Lucy.

The reason they could skip 3 years is because his parents told him to never visit her again (while he seemed to be fudgeed up. I'm not sure he would have got so low if he didn't have feelings for her). Then Akane called.
[or are you saying the fact he couldnt go that he couldnt feel for her anyway..?]
