Strike Witches really isn't that bad.  But no, it's nowhere close to being the 18th best anime.

But yeah, this list is like the definition of shit taste.  I mean, Index is number 6, and Ore-imo is number 11.  And 1/2 the list seems completely random.

You're much better off looking at anidb ratings as a judgement of anime quality.  Anidb is at least mostly consistent.  Or MAL ratings if your tastes match those better.

Agreed, but I never let other people's opinons get to me. For me, it only matters what I like.

Agreed, but I never let other people's opinons get to me. For me, it only matters what I like.

Hmm... I never finished watching Angel Beats!

I watched two episodes, and attempted to watch episode 3, but I pretty much dropped the anime.

I'll probably watch it again, when I have nothing else to watch...

strike witches won me over character design :)

What are you comparing against?

Because it sure as hell isn't anything like these typical ecchi harem shows everywhere.  I don't think you should lump it with other non-harem fanservicy shows either, because they're fundamentally different at the core.  Ecchi/fanservice shows gets viewers by sexually exciting them, Strike Witches I personally think mostly appeals to people because of the happy and positive feelings you get from watching it, like K-on and Aria (except those are slice of life, while Strike Witches isn't).  The costumes are just an extra, and it never goes out of it's way to give you fanservice scenes like a true ecchi show would.  Also, Strike Witches doesn't contain any romance elements at all.
