upon running Firefox 3.0* your plug-ins will re-install/reconfigure themselves. (if they are 3.0* compatible which most are now)

The betas/RCs usually install themselves in a different directory.

It makes switching between Firefox 2 and the Firefox 3 betas easy.

You can also try what I posted in the third post and see if that gets it back.

I've seen some unofficial x64 builds of Firefox 3...
