They are trying to make APU's (which are chocolatety IMO) why force one chip to fail at everything when you can just have a CPU and a GPU that both do what they do flawlessly
APUs do a fantastic job in laptops and smaller platforms, desktop AMD CPUs are rock solid, and seeing as AMD are both GPU and CPU now (with the acquisition of ATi), why wouldn't they push APU development? They're a business first, not your best buddy.

Because CUDA is an nVidia Technology, you asshat.

OpenCL is used on Mac, and OpenGL is still supported by all AMD APUs and GPUs, up to OpenGL 4+, which is pretty cutting-edge. They also support DirectX, obviously.

I don't know what you're on about here, just because nVidia cards sport CUDA cores, doesn't make proper end ATi/AMD GPUs rubbish. You're just whining because you don't have another technology to show off over.
And if you actually knew what you were talking about, CUDA is just a technology that pushes CPU work onto the GPU, which is what AMD APUs do, and do very well as the CPU/GPU combo allows for minimal latency between components.

You bought your card
2 years ago, a lot has changed since then. I have an Intel i7 in my desktop, and an AMD X3 Phenom with an ATI Radeon in my laptop, both are rock solid and powerful.

AMD, how do you think this makes me feel?
I trusted you and you've essentially told me
HEY THANKS FOR THE MONEY :D
NOW GO FUCK YOURSELF
Technology updates itself, if you didn't want to get something that goes out of date, like ALL computing equipment, don't buy a computer or any components.

No, you're an idiot.
