2D in 2D
If anime is 2D, how do they represent 2D in this 2D world?
Pictures without shading?  Less complex images?
Or maybe overly fancy drawings?

RE: 2D in 2D
No object occlusion, maybe? Hiding part of something behind something else implies depth, after all.

(Is occlusion even the right word?)

RE: 2D in 2D
I never though anime as 2d (sort of) I mean it's on a flat screen but the drawings and shading give an illusion of depth.

No actually, wee watch 2D in a 3D world.  Funny, but that's how screens work.

Screw 3D TV/BD, everyone knows it's just 2x2D images anyway.
