Episode 5:

Well, if she isn't a gonner, I'm going to feel betrayed...
Looks like Yasutaka had to save the day, I'm guessing.

Plenty of potentially unanswered questions:
- who thought of the great idea to give them all that strength?  Maybe they're re-purposed military androids?  Or maybe jumping off a building a few stories high (re episode 1) is a thing they want to guard against?
- a private (?) company can now order road blockades (with military grade weapons, mind you (hmm, maybe that theory of re-purposed military androids has some merit...)) in short notice.  I could actually see this potentially happening in the future though...  Though I suppose the police (R-security??) wouldn't mind cooperating if there's a berserk android on the loose.
- despite the tight security, a little boy can still bypass of all it (hey, how did he even know where to look??).  Can't imagine how it's supposed to stop black market dealers who know all of the shady tricks of the trade...
- if Marcia can supposedly lift a car easily, choking a boy's neck should be really simple; wee don't know how much she was trying though

Backstory with Isla, Kazuki and Michiru will probably get explored more.

They seem tough, like they can withstand more than humans anyway, but the strength they have is another matter. It would be interesting if they were re-purposed military androids - one could imagine 'regular' Giftia types all being built to a spec, with their software as the only limiter.

That was one of the worst things that happened in the episode. Like a terrible excuse to make the situation worse on purpose.

Which I'm looking forward to. I quite like the characters in the show. Though I wonder how much the show will cheapen itself with daft stories. Wee'll see...

So much for the cliffhanger, haha.

Actually enjoyed this episode quite a lot. This show is definitely better at drama and comedy than action.

Isla has fallen for Tsukasa it seems and wee now know long she has left. Perhaps her mindset has changed and she now feels she needs to make the most of every moment? Her personality was given some colour in this episode with this along with Eru's antics which I did find funny.

Wee're only halfway though now though, which seems a bit strange given how soon she's expiring - I wonder what direction the show will go in? More relationship stuff... more work stories or both?

Also apparently the black market retrievers have all been rounded up by R Security so, uh, yeah so much for that idea.
Wow, that was a quick recovery.  I was expecting that she'd be MIA for at least an episode.  I suppose this show's mood is too positive for that though (or they don't want to detract from the climax of the series) - but it could've used that for variation.
The incident also seems to have fixed up her cheek muscles (or whatever mechanical equivalent is in her).

Hihi

It is nice to have her happy - lets see if she remains like this.
So a full on romance episode this time - it's all winding up for a dramatic, sad ending, but there's been such hesitance with maintaining negativity I can only think this will somehow have a good ending. Goodness knows how, though.

Isla is a funny character because of how obviously robotic she seems.. she doesn't have a whole lot of personality. She's been rather sweet in the last couple of episodes though, which is something.

Tsukasa deciding to ask her out and actually doing so in one episode is an anime miracle. He wants to make sure she has a wonderful last month of existence.. so he goes on a date with her? I like how he was introspective about it and admits that it seems egotistical, but after what happened with the retrieval-gone-bad and Isla warming up to him maybe he genuinely feels it's the best route to making her happy. That and he likes her so what the hell right?

Also, no, I'm still not agreeing with them being together - it just seems weird to me :/

You think so?  She seems very human to me...

I doubt it's that complicated.  He's been trying to ask her out for, like, the whole series...
Okay, he is thoughtful of her, but the whole dating thing is probably done for his own interests rather than for her sake.
