PMP Mod AVC v1.02M-J subtitle mod for fw1.5/OE

[Image: snap0001px2_qjgenth.png?415249]

Homebrew coder Madruscoe (aka moneytoo) dropped by our own forums today with an update for PMP Mod AVC. This program is for FW 1.5/OE users for playing AVC converted files with high quality and in full resolution.

There are a lot of changes with v1.02M-J, but probably the most important one is a bug fix related to freezing whenever the last (bottom) video is deleted. Long file names for videos can now be deleted, and the no PMP video screen has been fixed.

Madruscoe said that the thumbnails are .png files with 96x54 px resolution. They can be created on a PC; they should be correctly named to work with PMP Mod AVC; should a .pos file is generated, .png will be overwritten by a new screenshot.

Here are some of the controls as provided by the coder:

Analogue stick in filelist

    * up/down = up/down
    * left = exit
    * right = play

Headphones/remote control in filelist:

    * forward = down
    * back = up
    * play/pause = play

 View your battery percentage from the XMB with the Battery PRX
21/02/2007 04:39 AM Posted by: dasme in PSP News
Conventional battery icons just don't cut it when you only have 1 bar and it's the final level of the game you've been trying to complete for ages - you need to know exactly how much time you have left. That's why the creator of Flash Agent, Hallo007 has released a new PRX for custom firmware users.

Currently, this battery PRX only shows the percentage of battery life when you press the note key, but Hallo007 plans to add more features in future versions now that he has the hang of making PRX's. This is his first PRX and therefore there may be a couple of bugs in this release. It has already been noted that the screenshot PRX uses the note key to operate as well, but this will all be fixed in future versions.

To install the battery PRX, simply copy the extracted folders into the SEPLUGINS folder, make a vsh.txt  and enable it in recovery mode.

 [RELEASE] Pro-Messenger v1.3
21/02/2007 04:38 AM Posted by: dasme in PSP News
[Image: screen6ax7_qjgenth.png?596162] [Image: screen5ts8_qjgenth.png?325376]

Qaz released a new messenger portal for people to use. It's called the Pro-Messenger, now on version 1.3, and if it looks like it's got a lot to offer.

It's got 10 games, 12 themes, a User Name Change function, a Display Picture Change function, and a host of useful links. Best of all, it'll allow you to send messages to Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and AIM.

The developer mentions that his app isn't strictly homebrew, so you shouldn't be worried about bricking your PSP with this app, though there's a decided lack of an actual readme with the file. Feel free to visit our forums for directions though, as it seems the developer is willing to answer questions.

One thing wee've noticed though is how this application looks similar to the Windows Live PSP Messenger Portal. Wee did a bit of digging, and found out that while they are similar, this isn't a copy of the said application. As one of Qaz's mates from PspWxp on the PlayStation forums notes:

...yeah, I thought the same thing. Before he made this, I talked to lil_naruto and asked him for permission to include it into pspWxp and the upcoming Encore. Wee could include it, but Qaz decided to make his own and I don't think he saw lil_naruto's Live Messenger. He coded it himself I believe. It's a bit different, feature wise, but in the end they all do the same thing.

 Custom XMB Sounds
21/02/2007 04:26 AM Posted by: -J0kR- in PSP Theme Releases
Here are some custom XMB sounds I've collected over some time. I hereby take no credit to the creation of these. I'm just here to share em with this up & coming forum.

File includes:

Vista Sounds
PS2 Sounds
1.0 Bogus Eboot Sounds
Female Moan Sounds
Final Fantasy 7 Sounds
Gran Turismo Sounds
Metal Gear Solid Sounds
Original XMB Sounds (if your not satisfied with these)

Make sure you have enough flash0 space before inputting these. The normal system_plugin.rco is about 96kb & some of these can go up to 350+ kb.

Feel free to add any others you may have to this thread because once again I take 0 credit for these custom sounds.

Edit: Sorry fellas. The password for these = pspmax

 [GUIDE] Save flash0:/ space
21/02/2007 03:20 AM Posted by: |-Anubis-| in PSP Customisation Tutorials / Guides
A simple little list to save some flash0 space on your PSP.

Do all of the deletions by going into Recovery Mode and enable flash0 USB connection.

I also recommend that you perform a full dump of your firmware as well.

Ok lets start with some big ones.
 • gb3s1518.bwfon (1,000 KB) located in flash0:/font can be replaced with a ltn0.pgf that has been renamed to ltn0.pgf

 • jpn0.pgf (1,545 KB) also located in flash0:/font can also be replace with a ltn0.pgf however the following will be missing:
• arrows at the bottom of xmb "agreement" screens are blank
 • some "tm" signs are blank
 • DNAS icon while authenticating is blank.
 • Arrow to the right of the On Screen Keyboard is missing.

And for the rest if you still need more space...

flash0:/vsh/resource/update_plugin.rco13.6KB
Removes/Disables Camera. XMB Icon does nothing.
flash0:/vsh/resource/camera_plugin.rco168.8KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/camera_plugin.prx77.6KB

Removes Update functionality. XMB Icon does nothing. Like you wanted it anyway...
flash0:/vsh/nodule/update_plugin.prx20.0KB

Removes RSS apparently. Attempting to add a RSS Channel will cause the PSP to crash.
flash0:/vsh/resource/rss_subscriber.rco11.0KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/rss_subscriber.prx10.0KB

Disable XMB Video Capability. Game Videos still play. XMB Icon does nothing.
flash0:/vsh/nodule/video_plugin.prx8.8KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/video_main_plugin.prx162.3KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/msvideo_plugin.prx10.3KB

flash0:/vsh/resource/video_main_plugin.rco32.0KB
flash0:/vsh/resource/msvideo_main_plugin.rco157.1KB

Disable XMB Audio Capability. Still hear the Click sounds in the XMB. XMB Icon does nothing.
flash0:/vsh/resource/music_main_plugin.rco177.6KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/music_main_plugin.prx366.1KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/music_common.prx72.9KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/music_plugin.prx10.3KB

Disables XMB Photo capability. Can still View Pictures on Eboots and Music Album Icons etc.
flash0:/vsh/resource/photo_plugin.rco124.6KB
flash0:/vsh/nodule/photo_plugin.prx107.8KB

Disables/Removes Web Browser

flash0:/vsh/nodule/htmlviewer_utility.prx18.1KB
