Hey everybody :P

I'm on a big modding spree, and after having bought a shit of awesome uv-reactive arcylic ages ago, I finally decided to make a hole in my PC case to put it in. What made me do it? I found out that my school has a lasercutter that can easily and accurately cut and engrave acrylic! I'll show pictures later of what it can do. Also, at about the same time as the acrylic, I got a PSOne portable lcd screen that's a few inches (10 or so, maybe less like 7). I want to build it into the side of the case as well :D

Anyway, I have all the stuff and now I have all the tools, but I don't really rule at graphics that much. Because I can easily engrave the acrylic now, I would of course like to decorate it. I was thinking of some stuff like either tribal, fire or dragon tribals, or anything. I'll post a template soon for the shape and the size of the screen, but if anyone would like to make a design that would be awesome. Of course I will engrave 'design by <name>' into the acrylic as well, and a prize of 10000 epigs.

Sorry, for my poo poo pictures, I just would like to know what it can do, line cuts or layer engraving, and maybe spend more time on something semi good.

It can cut or engrave, but the 'engraving' is only one depth. So either way, it has to be a black and white image (not greyscale). The acrylic is mostly clear normally, but the engraving (rather shallow) makes it white (it basicly scratches it a lot, makes it matte), but I think under UV light it would be more blue than the rest of the acrylic. Either way, the 'engraved' part will not be transparent anymore, the rest will (I do want to be able to see a bit inside).

I've made the final design for the hole, so I have to seem to make a template out of that. I wish the lasercutter could do metal, that would be way awesome :P it can, but wee're not allowed to because it takes ages (and you can't leave it on overnight because sometimes the object catches fire). I'll see how I'm going to do this and get back here with a template asap. Basicly it's a bit of an x shape but with curves rather than outer angles (imagine 4 big circles touching each other, the middle part). You'll see.
