RE: About 3.71M33 Customization
dang guys...looks like i left work right before all your testing started yesterday :(

Sucks to hear about the brickage...I am a support person at heat and always to help as much I can!  I hope this news gets passed around quickly because after vulpix made that 'flash0 unlocker' I have been trying to warn all of qj/maxconsole/consolespot that hey should NOT be running that and NOT flashing ANYTHING at this time.

After i corrupted my 01-12.bmp on 3.60m33 i felt something strange was brewing on the flash0 and bstronga and zingaburga I am damn sure you hit all the nails on the head!

So is a ported vesrion of CXMB going to be a more practical approach to modding now??

I woke up with a migraine :(  I am going to go back to bed and reboot my brain...

RE: About 3.71M33 Customization
Well i will suggest this to those trying to get past this stumbling block.  Don't DELETE ORIGINAL FILES!  Rename them to .rc on flash0 THEN copy over your new ones...this way nothing is getting removed from flash and you won't risk corruption by restoring it from backup!!!!

When you are done testing, go back to flash0 and delete the test file and rename original from .rc to .rco.

@Bstronga...i got the topmenu_icon file from vegetano1 and i can't get it to work on the slim :( :(

@ZiNgA BuRgA
i guess your RCOEdit needs an update ;)
Kinda no point...

Uncompressed images are HUGE.
Let's see, image data: 64x64 × 1 = 4KB, pallete = 256×4 = 1KB, then wee have 0x40 GIM header, plus 0x40 pallete header + 0x40 data header.
Total size for one 64x64 icon = 5312 bytes.
A topmenu_plugin.rco will be over half a MB...

bstronga Wrote:below example theme is by Vegetano1
however the conversion is very uncomplete as it has the only purpose to show that 3.71M33 is as customizable as 3.52M33.
Note: don't edit the topmenu_icon.rco ...
Haven't checked, but what was changed?
EDIT: ???  From what it seems here, you did edit the topmenu_icon.rco... Erk

yeh the topmenu_icon.rco is much bigger due uncompressed gim. ;o

sure i had to edit the rco, i changed the compressing flags to make the icons to show up.
i meant people shouldn't edit the supplied rco because it will change the compressing flag again.

the files, including topmenu_icon.rco _won't_ work if you flash them thru recovery...

So that basicly means you can't use custom theme's on psp slim 3.71m33 because there is not a pandora extended menu for the slim yet,.!?

Lol , it cost me 4 bricks till i get familiar with 3.71 M33 , and for changing something wee will need any good Flasher , yes A Flasher .....

what i used pandora extended by HellcaT , this mod got extra fast acces to the flash0.

Hi,

first hello all - my first post here!!!
I can also confirm - it works perfect.
I did it the same way like gsmoke did.
First i renamed the endings of the original files to .rc and .pr and then copied the modified file to flash0.
After proofing if it works, i wanted to see if i can go back - so i deleted the modified files and renamed the original files back and it worked perfect.
So what can i say - keep on doing a perfect job.

Thanks
hugo

RE: About 3.71M33 Customization
@gsmoke

how did you install the pandora extended on 3.71?

It keeps giving me "the game cannot be started" error

Recovery set to 1.50 and 3.71 doesn't work.

Tried it in the GAME, GAME150 and GAME371 folders.

I feel so lame...
