God... this sucks....
I finally got around to order a new CPU fan... but it won't arrive till next Monday.... 2 weeks ago I got an overheat shutdown while playing Riddick, now when I wanted to try Sims 3 my PC again started to sound like a damn vacuum cleaner.... -.-

So now I have a awfully powerful PC but can't play anything better then Source Engine Sadist Nanana

Yeah it's probably just dust in the heatpipes, I only cleaned the fan and I could look for the heatpipes now but what I learned, never ever mess with your PC while shops are closed....

RE: God... this sucks....
The thing is, I seem to be cursed xD
Whenever someone asks me to build their PC from parts they have bought I have it up and running in no time.
If I however open my own PC and mess only the slightest bit it usually ends with me turning the PC on and, seeing only a black screen (no BIOS etc.) and then panicking.... I'm also unnaturally afraid of damaging something in my own computer....

Anyways nothing is overclocked but as more summer it gets outside the more trouble I get..... I started Sims 3 and then watched the temps with Everest on my G19... CPU 60°C fan @ 3200 rpm, GPU 115°C fan @ almost 10000 rpm and well like said my PC sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
Dust or not, this system ran hot from the start the only thing that helped me was the fast dropping temperature in Europe after August. Since I don't like the air room heaters create my room temperature was always at 10°C if not lower which must have helped the PC to stay cool.

This is the CPU fan I ordered: http://www4.atelco.de/4A7qiqiH8cMkOg/art...8&agid=288

It says socket AM2 but it should be also compatible with AM2+ and quadcores, right?

I will also take my Graphics card with me to the shop when I get the CPU fan, maybe someone is kind enough to clean it as I have no experience in dismounting large GPU cooling systems....... >_> neither do I have experience replacing CPU fans.... <_<

EDIT: Wait a sec I just realized what's wrong..... I think my CPU is perfectly fine, I just forgot my ATI HD4850 is freaking long.... so long that it also goes under my CPU.... As my GPU got hotter and hotter it also slowly grills the CPU few centimeters above it..... if my theory is right I just need to clean the Graphics card.....

CPU @60°C isn't all that bad, and shouldn't be all that loud either. I overclock on stock (yes people, it's perfectly possible) and it gets to about 60°C on hot days. On the other hand... 115°C definitely can't be good...

GPU above CPU? You have one of these mini-systems?

Try underclocking your GPU. Should bring the temps down somewhat. Would also save you power.

RE: God... this sucks....
My GPU is under my CPU, thus the whole hot air it emits rises and boils my CPU nice and slowly^^
I thought about underclocking but I remember times where my GPU ran only at 90°C under load, I will take a look at it after school, I mean I don't have that much to loose, three possibilities:

1: I get the Graphics card cleaned and everything works fine again.
2: I break something
3: I do nothing and my PC boils to death on it's own xD

RE: God... this sucks....
You really should't have these problems,. but indeed if you got very small mini-case cooling is more difficult, maybe try add a large fan to get more air flow,.
My former Graphics card was covered in dust so badly and still ran fine,. ;p
I can tell you i am def satisfied with my Cooler master tower stocked with 7 fans,. Hihi

@PSPKILLER
I have bought a compresed air can to keep up with the dust,. but aint worth the try,. dust does't come off and often the can sprays lliqued air and makes the dust even more sticky,.

Actually, no, he doesn't have a mini-case. I just looked back at his old thread, and his case is this:

http://www.aerocool.com.tw/case/i-curve%...rve%2B.htm

That case has 2 120mm fans on it. So it shouldn't be any problem with the case ventilation.

@V1: 7 fans... Is it like loud?

Mine has 2 fans, but I found the front fan to be really loud, so I disabled it. Only 1 120mm back fan now, but since that fan's pretty powerful, I find it's enough.

If the dust is so strong that you can't remove it by sucking (or blowing), then just getyourself a brush or something and brush it. Like for the dust inside the heatsink, that's what I did.
