I just got off a 15 minute customer service call with a woman who must be missing more than a few brain cells.

She calls me up, and says she'd like to order a large cookie cake. (I work at Mrs. Fields for those that don't know) So I get all her info filled out, and she customizes her "cakie", and then wee get to the payment information. When I ask for specific payment information, she says she has a discount. I ask her what kind, as there are various discounts people can get. Basically, here's how the ensuing conversation goes:

Her: I have a box.
Me: I'm sorry, ma'am?
Her: I have the box from a cookie cake.
Me: So....you're saying that you want to use a....box for your discount?
Her: Yeah.
Me: I don't think that's possible.
Her: Why not?
Me: Hold on a sec

I then put her on hold, and asked my supervisor about it. She starts laughing, and says that no, she can't do that.

Me: Sorry, wee can't accept boxes as a discount.
Her: But my friend's mom sent me this box, and she said I could use it to get a cookie cake for free!
Me: Ma'am, your friend's mom was mistaken. Very mistaken.
Her: But...
Me, trying to be helpful: Is there anything in the box? I mean, besides the cookie cake?
Her: There wasn't any cookie cake in the box.
Me: Wait, your friend's mom sent you an empty box?!
Her: Well, there was bubble wrap in it, and that was it.
Me: ...and you want to use this box for a discount?
Her: Yeah.
Me: Ma'am, that's not possible. Your friend's mom was mistaken. Sorely mistaken.
Her: Ugh! I don't see why you can't do this for me.
Me: Ma'am, I'm sorry, but wee just can't do it. It's not possible.
Her: ...
Me: Would you like to complete your order with your credit card?
Her: No thanks...
Me: Alright, thank you for calling--(she hangs up, cutting me off)


Well, there's the highlight of my day. I seriously keep laughing to myself over that. It's freaking hilarious.
