Bullshit!!!

CRTs still use the same amount of light (not saving power)
And most lcd moniters use heat not light (still not saving power)
And I don't know what runs plasmas but if your that rich to own a plasma computer monitor you can probably afford to waste the power anyway

Google themeselves even said that they aren't saving any power and that's why they don't keep their homepage like that all the time

I would ask you guys to not use their site to boycott their stupidity.

one last thing I would also like to ask if where did they get proof of this information? If they have a reliable source I will remove this and shut up, but until then I really hate people who pull facts out of their donkey to sound smart

Also, key word. MODERN CRT monitors DO use more energy for brighter colours, if you monitor them this becomes obvious
