PTFs never contained any text.  It's possible that support for text can be added within the bounds of the file format, but it looks highly unlikely.

As I previously said, all PTFs are, are just a collection of icons, and a background, nothing more...

But its SO much easier to apply the new icons than other any method right now.

I think the two [lack of options and ease of use]  balance each other out.
