RE: Sony's Theme Creator
I suggest PNG since I believe it has the best transparency support.

RE: Sony's Theme Creator
From tests with RCO, PNG transparency wasn't supported. IDK if PTFs are handled differently however.

RE: Sony's Theme Creator
^ Did transparency work?
Cause PNG/GIF/BMP/TIFF transparency don't work for me in RCOs...
(from the looks of it, PTFs should support PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, GIM and TGA formats - why Sony decided to restrict them however, remains a mystery to me)
EDIT: I'm suspecting the program rewrites PNG and TGA into GIM format; obviously PNG and TGA don't have colour restrictions.
EDIT2: Yep - I see, the program does convert everything to GIM format...

ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote:^ Did transparency work?
no it showed up white Hummm
I made the back ground transparent on my first run with it 64x48 8 bit 32 color
every thing held up
added it to psp theme folder
loaded it
white back ground
ps you need to give it a background & a preview & a preview button or it will not make the ptf
8 bit 32 color seems to be what all the icons have to be
the background it wonts in .bmp lol SVC
preview is also .bmp
preview button is 16x16 8 bit 32 color

RE: Sony's Theme Creator
^ Transparency _should_ be supported, if the PNG is internally converted to GIM.
What I was saying, is that you can directly embed a PNG into a PTF/RCO, however, transparency isn't supported.

It's about the same as my RCO Editor, though yeah, there's an additional dimension restriction here...
