nice build assassinator! love the case

how long did it take for the monitor to be delivered? - sucks about the 3 dead pixels :/

10 seconds o.O ... and i thought mine was fast xD (win7 + crucial m4) around 30 seconds

Can't say for him, but many of those Korean dealers do expedited delivery.  I ordered on Tuesday morning, was sent Wednesday afternoon (I let the dealer do a monitor inspection, which they say takes 1 business day) and arrived in Brisbane late Thursday night, meaning it got delivered Friday morning.
Of course, where you are in the world will have an impact.  They claim 2-5 business days to deliver.

Apparently at the resolution, dead pixels are barely visible.  I can't seem to see any on my panel.

You could probably do 30 seconds on a traditional HDD.
But what you're loading at boot has an effect. I load a fair bit of stuff, although my boot time is probably less than yours.

that's not bad at all, im in the philippines so that makes me closer from korea than you two,
but im guessing it would take around the same time for a monitor to get to me
or maybe +1 more day . lol
but atleast its not THAT long, was half expecting it to be around 10-15 days

and yeah .. i suppose you wouldnt see them at that res :))

i load quite a lot but nothing to heavy (at least i think theyre not xD)
what i notice is it takes longer to boot in post and stuff (probably around 20 sec?) rather than in windows

You generally should measure from the bootloader, not from a cold start.

Yeah, can't really see them normally. I spent a couple of minutes looking very closely to spot all of them.

The SSD brand should make pretty much no difference (I mean 5% difference in synthetic benchmarks is like nothing in real life). 64GB is smaller and I heard that large SSDs are faster. Also like zinga said, it depends a LOT on the OS and how much stuff you need to load on boot. My Windows install was fresh with absolutely 0 additional programs installed, and Window 8 seems faster to boot than 7?

its probably that (?), i don't recall having a 10 second-ish boot time when i did a fresh win7 install on mine

i have a 25 second odd boot time on my laptop with a sandisk extreme 120gb, shutdown is just as fast. upgrading the traditional HDD in that after the old one broke to an SSD was like getting a whole new laptop, the performance gain was so good.

nice build assassinator, like everyone said, dead pixels suck but at least they're not staring you in the face. i have a thunderbug stuck inside my laptop screen. drives me nuts.

Brand not necessarily, but the controller makes a huge difference. I believe some of the cheap SSDs are barely faster than a fast HDD.
Though if you stick to the recommended ones, the differences are small.
