I'm trying to restore a file I accidently deleted. I have a few file recovery programs, but is there anything you guys recommend?

RE: File Recovery
I find it generally hit and miss.  One's I've found work well:
- Restoration
- Power Data Recovery

Probably doesn't matter much though.

RE: File Recovery
Normally Ontrack EasyRecovery got everything back for me, but I've tried O&O UnErase, Recuva, PC Inspector File Recovery, Undelete Plus and Restoration. None seem to be able to find the file I lost, let alone recovery it. It must be different recovering an SSD vs a HDD. But I will not give up yet.

I'll try Power Data Recovery.

Depending on how you have your HDDs setup and where you stored the file you may have already over written it installing all these file recovery apps.

The recovery programs are going on my D: drive, the file I'm looking for is on my C: drive. But yes, since it is my C: drive, files are constantly caching and writing to it, so I have little hope of retrieving it.

RE: File Recovery
Oh yeah, SSDs are different these days, with all their complexities around remapping blocks etc, and the TRIM instruction basically saying the entire block can be erased by the SSD.

D: drive = unhappy

File recovery is a 20-80 thing. If TuneUp didn't work, then probably your file is lost :/

I haven't given up yet. I had a backup file on my H: drive. It's a lot older, but I deleted thinking I didn't need it anymore... and this happened.

Only 2 more days doing a deep scan.
