Dear Mozilla
You code like shit...
and like, when are you not gonna code like shit?
because it's not getting any better... It's just not.
Your browser sits there and just takes more and more and more memory... even when I'm not doing anything.
SO seriously
please stop
just stop
STOP

Sincerely,
People who don't code like shit

I think zinga mentioned somewhere that it may be a leak in some plugin/addon instead of the main thing.

If it is, I would suspect adobe for no real reason in particular except that it crashes frequently and seems to have problems.

I'm too lazy to run firefox in safe mode to test this theory right now, but maybe later I will...

RE: Dear Mozilla
I've had Firefox open for like 2 months straight now.  Have noticed some lag at times, but that's about it.  Probably using around 2GB RAM with like 50 tabs open (am using x64 build), but with 16GB RAM I don't care.

Firefox 15 is supposed to have most of the memshrink benefits (helps with addons leaking memory), although after about version 9, Firefox pretty much fixed its own leaking problems.

Having tried a few browsers, others leak memory too.  I've had to restart Opera, Chrome and IE after long periods of usage.
Some have also criticised Mozilla for trying so hard to reduce memory consumption, as it can have detrimental effects on performance.

If Adobe is causing strife, just disable the plugin.  Apparently Mozilla are planning to do their own PDF renderer, similar to Chrome, to bypass Adobe.

RE: Dear Mozilla
I use 17.0a1 and I notice nothing besides buttery smoothness. As for RAM usage, I have too much that I don't really pay attention to what's being used.

RE: Dear Mozilla
I haven't tried the later versions of FF properly but what I do know is that Flash 11.3 is horrible with it.

RE: Dear Mozilla
I'm actually running Waterfox, so it very well could just be a problem the Waterfox developers created...
