RE: Summer 2012 Anime Lineup
EDIT: removed long rant.
Fan of both Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and MLA, I'm definitely going to watch Total Eclipse, but I have a bad feeling it's going to bomb. Being directed by the Rosairo+Vampire guy certainly doesn't raise hopes in that regard (I'll rage way fucking hard if it turns out to be just another ecchi fest like Rosario).
Oh yeah, Koi to Senkyou to Chocolate (Love, Election and Chocolate), the VN for that is said to be average-ish, so don't expect anything totally amazing. It has nice art and a nice OP, but both of that probably won't transfer over to the anime.

Thanks for the information Assassinator.

A valid concern. R+V S1 was actually decent but S2 went below average. Koharu Biyori turned out terrible. I know sometimes it's best to ignore ratings but when his best title is 5.81... it's hard to be hopeful. Note that most of the stuff is very ecchi-centric (except Jewelpet Sunshine.. what the heck he's directed that?) so yeah, ecchi fans (of which wee definitely have a few of here) will probably want to watch this regardless. *rolls-eyes*
Anyway, no SHAFT anime this season. I is disappoint. Guess they're working hard on Kizumonogatari.
Will revisit chart when the season comes around!

About AniDB ratings, a few month ago or something, they refactored all the ratings to give them a full range, which probably pissed a whole lot of people off.
IRC logs posted on the AniDB front page
So all ratings across the board are now lower. 5.81 would probably map to the low 7's.
They also added some anti vote stuffing measures and stuff.

Oh that reminds me, I watched the first episode of Rosario Vampire the other day since I had a free trial of Netflix on PS Vita.
It was poo poo. I should probably just quit while I'm ahead

Err.. I guess that's a good thing then. Inflated ratings are no fun.

Like said, S1 was tolerable compared to S2 which just gets worse so yeah, that might be a good idea if you don't like anything about it.

I loved the manga... it's too bad that the anime was an ecchi fest (the manga was ecchi as well, but I didn't FEEL like pantsu was getting shoved down my throat whilst reading it).
As for Muv-Luv, oh god mah balls, tight su~ *ahem* I mean, that looks to be a very interesting take on the plot, yes....
You seem to really love the muv-luv series assassinator, which reminds me that I need to get around to reading/playing it on my computer, it's been sitting there for quite sometime because VN's are not something I can so easily pick up... :/

RE: Summer 2012 Anime Lineup
Hmm. I have made my list.
Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru
Hagure Yuusha no Estetica
(maybe) Natsuyuki Rendezvous
(maybe) Sword Art Online
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Aruvu Rezuru: Kikai Jikake no Yousei-tachi
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse (Probably going to be a mind-fudge, but me <3 Kimi ga Nozomu Eien)
Campione!
Oda Nobuna no Yabou
La Storia della Arcana Famiglia
And for OVAs:
Kiss x Sis (obviously!)
Kimi no Iru Machi
Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi
Seitokai Yakuindomo
Code Geass Gaiden: Boukoku no Akito
ToHeart2
Seems pretty light. More for probably be announced soon.
