Pretty much perfect for most games.  Actually you can make stuff look better than a real PS2 by rendering at much higher resolutions.

Native PS2 resolution

4x render

Get the SVN builds instead of the officially released build, as those are slightly out of date.   http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/

You need a very strong CPU (3.5+GHz on 2 cores, PCSX2 only uses 2 cores) if you want to run stuff straight out of the box, otherwise you need to mess with the speed hacks a bit.  GPU doesn't really matter, as long as you're not on integrated or something.

As for CPU, 2GHz 2nd generation Core i7 on laptop (faster than my 3yrs old desktop).  Turbo boost to 2.6GHz if using only 2 cores.

Just as a note, Dolphin only uses two cores but you should be fine. I play most games at full frames with my AMD A6. Also, Wii/GC games at 1080p = <3.

For PCSX2?

Yeah, that's ok.  With speed hacks enabled you should be able to run most things, except for the really hard things.

I think it'll be pretty easy to code a "virtual printer" or something that takes a print request and outputs an image or something instead of actually printing it.

Also can Dolphin really emulate the Wii?  I thought it was a GC emulator.

psd to png converter is pretty much this.

RE: Wii Dolphin Emulator Review
hmmm getting a pair of controllers and plug my laptop to the TV might be way better than buying a wii.
