THORA released it in 1080p 10-bit. Not the most straightforward for computers to handle.

The release I have is 8-bit, and it plays pretty fine until subtitles are shown, then it chokes a bit. >:(

Karafx kills performance on anything.  If the group is soft subbing, they shouldn't use more than \k or \K tags.
DXVA doesn't support anything higher than High profile.  I suppose that's a prime reason for slowdowns.

To not sPa/\/\ the season thread - I saw Kill Me Baby 03 earlier and was laughing the most at the anime than I have in a very long time - so freakin funny.

Remarkable - and unexpected - improvement since its first episode... and very welcome!

Working'!! recovered from a poor first episode too, not as well as KMB though. The difference between boring tried humour and total hilarity is a big one.

Working my way through the Kimagure Orange Road OVAs after finishing the main series. Classic romcom leaning more towards comedy and with a dash of drama - it's unmissable for fans of the genre.

Also, love the art style and characters involved - very memorable.

Still got 5 OVAs and 2 movies to go!

RE: Anime Chatter with Senseito
Finished Kimagure Orange Road altogether now - with the exception the pilot that includes the TV series, series of OVAs and two films.

Heck of a ride and so many differences too. I will write something detailed in due course but needless to say, fans of (in order) Romance, Comedy, Drama aught to check out this classic title.

The first movie take it in an unexpected direction and a distinct turn in genre that reminded me of Toradora. Second movie is bizarre if only due to the almost completely different feel due to the production that came 8 years after the first movie.

What do you think about the anime, "Kino's Journey", or as said in Japan, "Kino no Tabi".

"If you see a person jumping down the street, you can tell his preferences by shooting at the guy. If he starts whining, he plays Counter-Strike. If he charges you wielding an axe, you just interrupted a Morrowind player buffing his Acrobatics."

RE: Anime Chatter with Senseito
My line-up has been changing quite a bit recently.

Since my last post regarding Kimagure Orange Road I've started and finished Onii-sama... e/Brother, Dear Brother.

A proper josei anime - the animation style took some getting used to and the first episode made me slack-jawed several times by what I was hearing coming out the mouths of the characters I saw. I got used to it, however, and when I did I just wanted to watch more and more.

It had rather good production values and a tremendously dramatic story. It dealt with a lot of serious subjects and to the extent that this was, at times, some of the darkest anime I've seen in a long time. The drama was substantiated by the excellent character development.. something I really appreciated and became clear as something that's been missing from a lot of titles I've been watching recently.

Brother, Dear Brother had its fair share of twists as well, a lot more than I'm used to and one I truly didn't expect on the run up to the end that I worried would spoil the entire anime - but it actually ended up working. It finished very, very well and deserves all the more credit for it.

One of the more impressive titles I've seen in a while, I feel a rating any lower couldn't be justified. 9/10
