RE: Anime Chatter with Senseito
Completed Ano Hana tonight.
May do a longer write-up at some point but I'll sum up my thoughts now.
I really enjoyed it. It had a very contrasting story that fitted very well within 11 episodes. For that length, the depth to which it went for the characters we got to know was an achievement in itself - none of them seemed like an outcast or forgotten all the while not moving away from the story being told. The animation was stunning (best work from A-1 I've seen) and the voice acting for the first time in a while really stood out for me, it wasn't cheesy and overdone nor dull and lifeless - the whole production was quite simply brilliant and it really helped deliver the story in a truly honest and heartfelt way.
This will be going into my "Short & Sweet" collection next to Usagi Drop. Both titles had the same genuine qualities as each other, in their own way and to get two stories told in such a way in a single year is a real treat. Wonderful stuff.

This anime made me cry somehow.
I really love Ano Hana, I just hated it for having only 11 episodes.

I don't think it could - or should - have gone for longer than 11. It was the perfect length for the story.
That said - do I miss the production and characters involved? Absolutely.

Yeah, I also miss them. Maybe I just didn't want the anime to end, that's all - cause it's too great :)

Yeah. That part where they were saying they found Menma is akward.
They're like shouting the same thing at the same time very loud.
I found one part of the ending emotional - the part where they were
reading their letters from Menma, when they were all crying.
-But I tried to hold back though cause there were alot of people in the house.
Don't want them to see me cry over an anime. Haha :)
