RE: Religion?
Well im getting on in life i think as you get older you do tend to look at and question things little bit more,I don't have a religion as such but belive the common good of man(and woman) and think if you live a good life and treat others you meet with respect along the way you can't go far wrong. Ive know people of all religion's and you get assholes in all walks of life, be true to yourself and humble my brothers and sisters and you will find the way.I think.

Peacefully Disturbed Wrote:My parents are Anglican, and I was raised Anglican.  Wee went to church every week, I was part of the youth group there, and my Mom is still a Sunday School teacher there.

I'm atheist now though, I have been since I was 13, I stopped going to church then too.

im similar to this, only episcopalean (sp?). after being formally confirmed in my faith at 13, started thinking "what the hell did i just confirm again? i don't really believe any of this stuff." i just had a crazy head over heels crush on a girl in my confirmation class. she was my first kiss and all.

yeah, so, quit going to church, refused to say the prayers in my private school's morning chapel, i had my head on pretty straight about it for being 13 (meaning i wasn't one of the budding goth kids who didn't do it to identify with the opposite of church, i just didn't do it because i didn't feel it, and it was obvious that it was something you should do only if you truly felt it)

went through a bunch of phases of things. when i dropped christianity as not so much for me, i dabbled in buddhism, but was very sophomoric about it. i bought books, and read them, but didn't internalize or really process much at all of what i read. from there, i started reading a bit of nietzche (sp?) but couldn't even pronounce his name correctly, and mostly just liked the thought of being one of those intellectual rebels.

from there, i got into a bunch of drugs, and started thinking the hippy thoughts, until i realized i didn't care about any of that hippy bullchocolate either. i just liked killing off some of the over thinking i tend to put myself through.

jump forward a bunch of years, a fair bit of pain and other things, and plenty of injested substances, and I've realized i don't really care about any of that spoon, and it's mostly just a crock. my current view is mostly along the lines of "it's everyone's responsibility to do their absolute best to not fudge their kids up like they were fudgeed up, and to always question your motives and purposes, and to be good to people". most everything else is just filler and bullchocolate.

voila!

its true, and ppl need to start seeing that to make changes, otherwise war will continue to savagely rape mother earth.

anyways this is what changed my life:

The Nine Satanic Statements

from The Satanic Bible, ©1969- yes i do own this badass book
by Anton Szandor LaVey

1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!

2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!

3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!

4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!

5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!

6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!

7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!

9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years!
