I had thought about checking out Fuchsia City and the Safari Zone...



...but this tub of lard is in the way.  So, since I recently acquired a Silph Scope....

Not sure why a Gastly would possess someone, but I guess it's up to me to stop it.

This ghost's a bit stronger than the others, but nothing my team can't handle.

And there appears to be a vampire here too...



And it was one of those glittery "Twilight" vampires, so I really enjoyed kicking donkey here :D

The ghost of a Marowak?  And it's extremely pissed...

I kinda feel bad for that Marowak...and I get the feeling that its death was no accident....but who could have done such a thing??

Henry the Snorlax was caught!



And with that Snorlax out of the way, I was able to finally get the Super Rod.  I'll put this to good use very soon....

Next Time: Vacation at the Safari Zone

Since I caught the Snorlax at Route 11, I had no need for the one at Route 16.  So I decided to see what else I could catch there...



...and found something decent.



Only one problem....Cameron killed it.



And remember that Super Rod I picked up not long ago?  Let's head back to Viridian City and see what I can catch with it....



Exactly what I wanted.



Except that it's female.  I had some good names for a male Poliwag....



Sydney the Poliwag joins the team!

BUT WAIT!  The team is full!  That means someone's about to get boxed....



...and since Poliwrath is part Fighting-type, Gina's the unlucky one.



Why?  Because I can.



Makes Water-type moves stronger, so it's useful for now.



That's good.



And that's even better!



Every Fighting-type needs a Fighting-type move, right?



On the way to Fuchsia, I passed through Route 17...



...and found another one of these.



Unlike last time, I caught this one.



Trinity the Doduo was caught!



Now that I'm in Fuchsia, there's only one thing to do...



SAFARI ZONE!!



I'm sure you can guess why I wanted to get here so badly...



Well, there's actually three reasons...

1) I hear they're giving away Surf HMs somewhere in here
2) Someone said the Warden lost his Gold Teeth in here, and though it might be a bit disgusting, I'm pretty sure he's offering a reward
3) The TRUE reason I'm here: Dratini

Remember, I'm counting each area of the Safari Zone as a separate area, so that's four chances to get one.  Let's try here at the entrance....



That's not a Dratini.



But at least I can use the Dupes Clause if needed.



Juan the Seaking was caught!



And here's Area 1.  Please let it be a Dratini....

Eve the Dratini was caught (and will soon join the team)!



And in Area 2, this appeared.



I guess it's worth catching.

So THIS is where you hid the Surf HM...awesome.



Now I just got to figure out why I can't use it out of battle yet...



And finally, Area 3.



This Nidorina appeared, but it ran before I could catch it.  Damn.



I did find his teeth while in the Safari Zone, but they were so gross I decided to spare all of you from seeing them...



Ok, now where's my reward?



Good.



An HM?  Awesome!



That's for moving boulders, right?



I know what I said about Slash and Sandslash....



...but I know I'm gonna need Strength later on.



I also decided to go back to Rock Tunnel and get someone in there to teach Freddy how to use Rock Slide :D



And finally, Eve joins the team, but that means Karen's getting boxed.

At this point, much grinding occured.  Every trainer on Routes 12 - 18 was challenged and defeated.  But since that's a lot of trainers, I'm not gonna show every battle and instead show some of the highlights from the grindfest.



An absolute must-have.







That's nice!



I checked out the grass at Route 14 and found this!



Sure, it's not that useful in battles, but its breeding potential is unmatched.



Kevin the Ditto was caught!

Anyways, I went back to the Cycling Road routes and started beating the trainers there.  One trainer in particular sent out a Machoke.  I expected an easy battle, but then the unexpected happened.....



....my dragon was slain.  Crit-hit Revenge For the loss

R.I.P. Eve the Dragonair Lv.23-34



Cameron, make sure that Machoke never fights again.

But why is Logan's level is so low compared to the others?  Well, it's because I'm probably gonna box him soon....



So this is the famous Fuchsia Gym....and apparently the Leader is a coward, hiding behind invisible walls....

Strategy PLUS brute strength ALWAYS wins.  And I thought this was a POISON-type gym??

...though you are the only trainer in here with actual Poison-types.

Well, I'm pretty sure you've got some Koffing, and wee all know what Koffing does best, so I am a bit worried right now...

Now that I can Surf, it's time to pay a visit to....



....the Power Plant!  But I'm not here for Zapdos....



....I'm actually here for a Pikachu.  And since the highest level Pikachus here are Lv.26, I can use Aaron in the lead...



...and a Super Repel to avoid the weak Voltorbs and Magnemites.



DAMMIT!



Well, it's not a Pikachu, but with 12 resistances and one immunity, it's still quite useful.



Normally, I choose the names for my Pokemon.  But this one connected itself to a nearby computer terminal and displayed a brief message on the screen that read, "My name is GLaDOS."

GLaDOS joined the team!



And of course, I run into a Pikachu on my way out....



As for GLaDOS, it's got a good ability, good Sp.Atk, and the previously mentioned resistances....



....so it's officially joining the team!

However, its moves are a bit....useless.  It's got Spark and that's about it...so let's see what I can do to fix that.



After a few quick tests, I determined it to be Hidden Power Psychic, which could be useful for a last-ditch attack against Fighting types (which it is weak to)



With Ground being one of its major weaknesses, a move that weakens physical attack damage should be helpful.



And with its resistances, I can easily use Toxic to stall if needed.
