I sort of think so too.  Well, a decent attempt, not a "terrible" attempt, because the final episode still > the main thing.

i didn't actually watch the final ep due to broken computer.
there are anime that has the final episode worth the whole thing, even if the whole thing is as crappy as this.
see: Katanagatari, normal episode is decent, but the actions in the final ep is one of the coolest spoon I've ever seen.

may be I'll get around to see it sometimes.
(or may be i can find the avi ver and watch it via ps3)
