yeah just sounds like hardware failure

odd occasions where a piece isn't made to full standard.

it's impossible to tell, as it works at first and doesn't look any different. But it may have some microscopic piece that wore quicker than usual. Therefore it died.

Give Sony a call ;D

its like a memory stick that was corrupted and unable to format, if its the internal memory error might be corrupted and need to replace , i opened it and the chip is sealed and hard to replace if i got the chance to ...unlike the psp 2k,3k and fat is easy to replace the i c cpu etc...
