RE: ZiNgA's Quick Review thread
I'm thinking of redoing my ratings system as I seem to be only giving ratings of like 2.5-3.5 stars.
Anyway:

Shigofumi
This one is somewhat like a collection of stories, with an overarching story line.  I really liked the first one (first 2 episodes), but the other ones aren't so good - some hovering on the "bad" side IMO (eg, I found the bullying one hard to believe), though some are quite reasonable.  Relatively enjoyable nonetheless - 3.5 stars.

Black Rock Shooter
The main thing that sticks out is the fact that there appears to be two stories, somewhat being run in parallel.  I wouldn't consider the main story to be great, and the "minor story" is just two people fighting, however the contrast between the two environments does have some impact.  But, although you can theorise over any underlying meanings, they don't really make it clear what's going on between the two.
Because I can't say any of the content is really any good, only the contrasting ideas holding any interest, can only give this one 2.5 stars.  Maybe the song its based off may reveal more info, but for me, I wouldn't know...

Onii-chan no Koto etc etc
Despite what others may think, I have a somewhat positive view on this show.  For many shows of this genre, the first episode is usually the most exciting (where they introduce the viewer to the crazy situation that's going on in the world) and the episodes following it, not usually so (i.e. daily life in this crazy situation; example Ouran High School Host Club: first episode - Wow! Girl that looks like boy becomes a host! other episodes - what happens in the club).  This show probably isn't any different in that regard, however they do somewhat avoid the "becoming boring later on" part by continually introducing interesting ideas in later episodes.  Unfortunately, it does somewhat wear off, though I think it's a step in the right direction.
For me, other aspects are just average - mainly the ideas they introduce caused the most interest in the show.  3 stars - nice try with the ideas, though I don't quite think they made it.  Probably would've given 3.5 stars for first ~6 episodes.

Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu
Story seems somewhat strange and a lot of details are withheld.  Even at the end, some things aren't really explained.
To me, it seems the show tries to achieve some "environment" more than a story, and it does manage to create a number of ideas in the 6 episodes.
Possibly unfair, but I didn't really like the way in which the story was told - the show just felt odd overall.  So only giving it 2.5 stars, though maybe would've given 3 if I liked the story telling a bit better.

Well, votes in their natural state aren't supposed to be uniformly distributed.  Probably some skewed distribution.

"Shigofumi OVA" (just 1st 2 eps) - 9/10.
Shigofumi - 7/10.

I'm guessing ep11-12 of Madoka won't be aired for a while...

Kampfer special is pretty much what you'd expect, full of fanservice.  Mildly amusing.
First episode of Mitsudomoe 2 is entertaining though.

Spoiler:
I mean, they introduced some quirky "rule?" about someone in possession of the Death Note cannot be killed - double you tee eff?

Wait wut?

How the hell would that work?  Wouldn't that effectively make him completely invincible?

Spoiler for movie ending:
Light tricks the shinigami into killing L and Watari (like in the anime).  Shinigami dies as a result.  However later, L appears again - apparently he gained possession of Misa's notebook (and gave her a duplicate, similar to what happened in later half of anime), and because he had the notebook, he didn't really die when the shinigami wrote his name in the book.

Not exactly invincible, but invincible against the Death Note at least.

Then who wins?

Finished watching Tears to Tiara.  Sort of breaking my own rule there (having previous played it in another medium sort of also counts as making this a re-watch), but I was originally watching this more for the action and stuff than anything.  Anyway, I thought it was pretty decent, it avoids a lot of the stuff I didn't really like about the game (less of that waifu poo poo, and less slice of life stuff).  They attempted to fix the ending too, but didn't really succeed much at that (in my opinion).  One thing that sort of annoyed me is that most of the battles just completely focus on the main characters beating everyone up.  While this may be true in the game, the reasoning there is that it's a fucking game and that's what happens in games.  Imo the anime should have portrayed the battles more as battles between armies (like in Guin Saga for example), that would have been more realistic.  The game also had this extremely touching bit around 3/4 to the end, and watching that brings back memories.

8/10 probably (probably overrated, may get revised down later).

Talk about revisions, for recent stuff I still remember...

Railgun 8 » 7.5 (7 in MyAnimeList).  I just got reminded how bad the starting 1/3 or so of the show was, after listening to my sister talking about that.
Angel Beats 7 » 7.5 (still 7 in MAL).
Kara no Kyoukai 5, 9.5 » 9 (10 » 9 in MAL).  Not really 10.  Adjusted the rest of KnK movies accordingly.
Someday's Dreamers 6 » 5
Akikan 6 » 5.  Wins most cliche award for ending.

Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo 8 » 9 in vndb.  It's actually like 8.5, but vndb only accepts whole numbers, and probably closer to 9 than 8.  Well, it's better than both Saya no Uta and Ever17, both of which I have at 8.
Cross Channel 7 » 7.5 (still 7 in vndb).  Hah, I really didn't like Cross Channel all that much.  Shows that a good ending isn't everything.
Tears to Tiara 7 » 7.5 (still 7 in vndb).

Also, Haruka can never escape her destiny of getting run over.  Not anywhere.

Also, here's the quarterly "bitch at zinga to update his MyAnimeList" post....  So yeah, go update it :P.

RE: ZiNgA's Quick Review thread
cba now.  Haven't even updated first post here.

Somewhat liked 2nd season of Mitsudomoe better than the first.  Unsure whether it's because it doesn't seem as extreme as the first, or I'm just getting more used to the weird situation though.

It was better I think. Laughing more than the first season is probably good evidence of that.

I know that road accidents are common in reality, but there's so many deaths cause by cars in anime and other related media.
