I use Opera Mini on my phone, its an entry level smartphone, so nothing brilliant, and it beats the standard (Chrome Based might i add) web browser by a mile and a half, its so much more responsive, the interface is better imo, and its just generally quicker to load things.

I dunno - to me, anything Apple (apart from its dev tools) is for tech noobs, and I don't consider myself a tech noob.
Although I know it's bad to judge a product by its maker, I have a feeling that Safari stacks up to Apple's image, so I'm not going to even consider it.

I wish Opera had SOCKS proxy support.

RE: [voting]Whot's best web browser?
Firefox.

Why chrome isn't better than firefox

Chrome was designed with the sole purpose of impressing the end-user. In almost all cases, the end-user is an idiot who doesn't know much about computers. The truth of the matter is, as far as computers go today, so long as you don't have an old piece of spoon computer, your browser will run at a fine speed. The only thing you really have to worry about is your connection speed, not your browser. Especially you, v1. Your computer rapes. The extra 20mb ram that people bicker about firefox using instead of chrome is ridiculous in a machine with 4-16gb. It won't make a difference.

Why firefox is superior to chrome

Chrome, doesn't really run faster. It gives the appearance of running faster with a couple of little tricks. It's a basic browser, with just what is needed for the end-user to get they're web browsing done. Firefox, however, isn't like that. It has everything that chrome has, as those components are necessary to be a browser, but it has more. Firefox offers the ability to do whatever you want with a browser. Firefox offers plugins. As you haven't tried ff yet, you don't know what I'm talking about. Plugins are little bits of programs that people write for firefox. You can download and install plugins for just about anything. There is one that gets rid of advertisements, there is one that duplicates opera's speed dial, there's even one that lets you cheat on Internet votes. With plugins, you can make firefox the browser that's exactly tailored to your experience, you can make it the browser that's built for YOU.

In the end, it's a matter of choice. Do you want something that's built to impress the same people who are impressed by mac's dock and borderless windows, or do you want something that was built simply to be the best? You decide.

Bro.. you realize chrome has plugins too right? I'm on chrome right now blocking ads with adblock. Just because something is simple and not 100% fully customizable doesn't mean its not any good. Why would I want to worry about all that when all I want is to browse the web? I have my bookmarks, my rss feeds, and my plugins. No difference whatsoever than firefox, even have the sock5 proxy click away.
