I got zinga intersted in watching it a while back because of the ridiculously high rating in anidb.

He thought it was only average.  But then again, zinga is one of the harder people to extract good ratings out of.

Either way, it's something i do plan on watching, eventually.

And that magically bumped our "compatibility" rating to 81%.  Which like 0.6 correlation or something, if I still remember correctly how it's calculated.  This places you at a higher compat rating than Zinga's 76% and SkyDX's 69%... Wait what?  My compat with Proper is 89.6%, that's like only 2% off from my sister's.  O.o  Heh, correlation measure only taking relashionship but not absolute weights into account.

I'd actually consider it reasonably good if I think back again.
I think it mixes in too much music though.  Music is good, but you don't really get full songs (not that it probably works), and there's too much otherwise.

That's an artefact of how the correlation is calculated.  Correlation only takes into consideration the strength of the relashionship, and not really the actual weights.

For example
A   B
4   8
3   6
5   10
Should give perfect 1.0 correlation.  If you plot them, they make out a perfect straight line.

Which is pretty much matches our case here.  Even though you rate everything higher than you, wee show a positive "relationship" because stuff that you rate comparatively higher (compared to your other stuff), I also rate comparatively higher (compared to my other stuff).  That's largely because some stuff are just better than others, like Kanon (which wee both rated pretty high) is just better than Traning with Hinako (which wee both rated pretty low).

So it's more the quality of the shows rather than our tastes.  What would be a much better measure of our true tastes would be to calculate the correlation based on our score deviation from the mean for that show rather than raw scores, but that will probably never happen.

And another thing I find extremely dumb is that they convert the -1 to 1 correlation scale to the 0-100% scale.  This is dumb because a moderately weak 0.5 correlation becomes a "strong" 75% compatibility.  And 0 = absolutely no relationship becomes 50% medium compatibility.  Herp herp herp.

Hmm, that does seem rather bad. :/

[Image: 628091192e16d0cec086d0a.jpg]Finished Nodame Cantabile completely (S1, S1 Special, S2, S3 00, S3, S3 13), I think I'll get around to doing a review for it so I won't say more!

Also finished, after over a year of effort, Minami-ke Okaeri. It definitely felt like the weakest of the three seasons at some points... the point where watching Slice-of-Life feels truly pointless because in this case you're not finding much more in their lives than your own.

However, it had it's good few strong episodes that were genuinely amusing, and it finished off on a strong note too, which is nice.

Can never get enough of Chiaki!

EDIT: OH! And it's worth mentioning the second season of Letter Bee, Tegami Bachi Reverse is moving along much better than expected, which is great.

Dropped Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. More Style over Substance, and for a comedy I couldn't laugh once over two episodes. Not good enough.

RE: AniList 3/Anime Chatter with Senseito
With the re-watch of the two 'ef' series it's quite clear 'melodies' is better.

The fact it was my second viewing last night did not make watching Episode 6 any easier. At all. What an episode that is...
