Well again I know now it isn't the fastest, or has the most add-ons but there are a lot of add-ons now, It's pretty fast, and I love the UI and for me the UI > all so I stick with chrome. it really is personal preference. I never really loved firefox.

I liked Opera for a while but really couldn't get over how I liked the way Chrome worked.

As long as it's free, who really cares if it's open source or not?

If IE was the best browser in the world, I'd use it, even though it's nowhere close to open source, and never will be.

Imo "fast" is way overrated.  I mean, as long as your computer isn't a 10yr Pentium 3 piece of poo poo, you probably can't see all that much difference.

I can render this in 100 milliseconds.
No, I'm better, I can do it in 80 milliseconds.  >.>

As for other stuff like startup speeds, how many times do you really open your browser every day?  Like 3?  Well, you saved yourself 3 seconds of your life.

Imo what's truly important is features and compatibility.

Chrome also sends info on your web activities back to Google, or so I heard.

Is there any good reason to?  Because it's :effort: setting up an account and learning how to use the thing just for some one time assignment.  The time taken will probably > the time saved.  And if you really need real-time, just share your MSN.

tl;dr -  tell him he's a meatstick.

I like Chrome a lot because of how it looks (and it's fast). However, it doesn't have proper AdBlockers (just Ad Hiders).

So now I use Opera, which is equally as fast (or, technically, 1% faster than Chrome), since it has an "Ad Blocker".

You can do a small hack to make Chrome not send this info. I did it. I just can't find the link to it ATM.

Like I said. CHrome is getting a lot of add-ons.

FOSS hippies, or those who want to customize the browser, or those who like flexibility of FOSS software etc.  There are big debates about it out there, so I won't go there...

People consider it on bigger and more complex webpages.  Javascript can severely slow things down for example.

There's an unofficial build which doesn't do that from what I've heard.  Otherwise, each to their own.
Personally would never use it due to lack of features, but people have different tastes.

Pretty much is one of those tech enthusiasts, but if he's willing to do the work, I couldn't personally care less.
