RE: vLite looks promising
poo poo - how big is that pic?!  I swear it killed my poo poo connection... T_T  Try using JPEG next time :P

Anyways, you mean the look?  Sure.  I kept Aero, and the Sidebar in my installation.  I removed stuff like "natural language" (I don't see much use in it) and the indexing service, plus Windows Media Player (I see you have KMPlayer, no need for WMP) and stuff like the Windows wallpapers and screensavers etc etc.
You can try it for yourself if you want.  But it can only modify an image of Vista, so if you already have Vista installed, you can't do much...

RE: vLite looks promising
Vista 64bit lite with working video drivers for all codecs etc etc that smashing news..
But no umd tools .... :(
I am not really up to date, what i do know is a Vista lite 64bit fully compatible with all harware and running vid codecs fine and asuming you have some dual core "AMD offcourse!!" procesor with plenty of ram will be an A okee machine for me.

PS are you removing stuff in vista yourself or do you use some prog for it.. like nlite..

The pic size is 1.14MB.....

well, I tried it way ages ago... again..... do I need Vista if I just want the look which can be achieved in XP also?

O, by the way, just if u dunno yet.... there is a similar tool in XP by the same developer.... called nlite   which does exactly the same things as vlite but for removing poo poo in XP, which make my XP even more faster.... lol... so... Vista has no match in terms of speed.

well... the screenshot is now in JPG... :P

I like what you did with your xp butta that slows things down and you would be better off installing vista if you want the poo poo anyway..
