its not realy against the hackers..the psn fies on psp got changed alot in 5.50 and they are now requiring that.

perhaps they know most people prefer m33 over gen...maybe they don't but its nothing against m33 firmware...its just the psn functions being used that dax never incorporated into 5.00m33

This is really stupid. It wasn't like wee were stealing games off of PSN anyway. You probably could also just go on your computer, access PSN, get what you want, put on PSP anyway...

Uhh, schmilk.
You do realize that when theres an update the PSP must have it.
They block it off anyways to older firmwares when they come out with a new firmware update. I'm sure the whole part of the files change alot but I'm sure if PSN was incorporated into 4.01 then they fixed a save game file problem (exploit) to 4.05 and didn't do anything with the PSN they would block off 4.01 so people would be more drawn away from the exploit and update so they can't go back allowing the exploit to be used frequently. Of course that's a guess, really don't know what all they do and why they do it.

EDIT: Is 5.50 blocked off from PSN when they came out with 5.51?
Just regular 5.50 not GEN.

5.50 added the support of the Playstation News Ticker to the psp which gets its data from the play station network. There was also the addition of video service or something on the PSN page...i don't remember, but i know it was something viewable on 5.50 and not 5.00 *talking OFW here*

Yes 5.50 ofw will not connect either. like i said ONLY ofw 5.51 and CFW 5.50GEN can access PSN.

There was no changes from 5.50 and 5.51 except some exploit thing that wee didn't even know about.
No PSN things changed from those two firmwares. All I'm trying to say is that maybe they changed how they blocked stuff when they changed the new firmware and some how it affected us using 5.00 M33-6. (not surprising.) and not 5.50 GEN cause I don't think it was out yet. Its kinda delayed and all but its just another theory not fact.

The PSP probably got confused cause sony edited their DNAS Check. So I dunno. Not really pulling out my PSP to test anything.
